hi, i know your comment wasn’t @ me but i just have to insert 2 of very good career oriented j-dramas that i think you would enjoy:

- Juhan Shuttai! - Sleepeeer Hit! (2016): you might have already known this one since it has a korean remake.

- Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru - Miracles (2018): one of the best and most healing Japanese dramas i’ve watched.

There are a lot more but i think these 2 are pretty much “starter pack”. Japanese dramas is a heaven for career oriented show and slice-of-life enjoyers, you’ll find more of them as you watch.

it's been a year and i still can't find the 2nd part of the spin-off. does anyone know where i can get the raws for it? i might consider subbing the spin-off, i just need some decent raws for part 2.

the music change in netflix version kinda irked me tbh. oasis's 'don't look back in anger' and its timing in every episode has become a part of the soul of this drama for me.

also loveeee that sugihara is mori’s oshi hahaha that’s so cute xD

i’m currently at episode 7 and have been enjoying this drama a lot. i love that it doesn’t need big productions or fancy locations, just the characters and the stories are enough to keep the drama engaging and not too stressful.

i actually appreciate that they switch to dubbing mode when the time is right, i don’t have any problems with foreigners speaking english in a japanese drama, it’s just that japanese actors speaking english is a bit too much for my listening skill T.T and hearing japanese dubbing is kinda refreshing actually, i love how enunciative the dubbing has been so far haha.

sad that there’s only 2 episodes left, i’m still not ready to say goodbye to these characters.

came back here after a year expecting to see a ton of unread comments, but it’s actually not many. i still think this drama deserves a bigger popularity (so that some kind of sequel would be more likely) but at the same time a part of me feels happy that it’s still pretty much a hidden gem lol.

it was Yoshioka Atsushi at ~26:50 in Episode 5 and ~23:00 in Episode 8. I used to think it was him. I've learned Japanese now and I just checked jp wiki and those database sites again, I don't think that was him anymore. not sure why "Nojima Shinji" was put in the guest roles section here in the first place lol. sorry for the confusion.

fun fact: the manga’s author said that he saw Itagaki Rihito 5-6 years ago on TV and thought that Rihito was the exact character image he was looking for at the time, so he created the character with Rihito in mind and gave him the same name.

both Rihito and the author thought that it was fate that Rihito got to play the character in the live-action.

men: pathetic.
women: sick in their heads.
drama: messy.
me: having a blast.

overall a quick and amusing watch for those who enjoy this subgenre (i laughed several times ngl). every character had their own past and trauma but nothing was too dark or too deep, just crazy lol. and i actually liked that scene at the end, they wrapped it up pretty well imo. scariest performance was hands down Nanoka's, her psychotic acting was almost too good (and too loud) for this drama.

I was going to make this a one-time thing since I’d come to like this drama a lot. But I’ll consider releasing my subs again if I find any forgotten title that I really enjoy, like this one ^^

the drama’s official X says it’s a “marriage x suspense” drama so probably romance and suspense.

i truly hope Japan will keep investing in Showa dramas aimed to mainstream audience like this, especially FujiTV and NHK, they’re really good at it.

LOVED it! This is such a gem. The kind of drama that only Japan can make and they went all in with the details and production.

I loved the anime so much that I had to wait until I’ve forgotten half of it to finally start watching the drama (and it took me 5 years). It was so satisfying to experience this story for the first time again. Really glad that they didn’t change the plot much and even kept the hints here and there. And amazing performances all around!
