each and every asadora has always been an ode to women in Japan but i have to say Ohisama really lived up to its name and sung that ode the clearest, warmest and brightest of all the asadora i’ve watched so far. it was like a source of positive energy that spread endlessly. and then i realized this asadora happened to begin its run from April 2011, right after the Tohoku earthquake in March 2011. interesting timing… it really makes me wonder if all this positive energy from Ohisama was any effective and helped them moving forward back then.
also the narrator’s voice was so soft and soothing, it got me emotionally invested in the story right from the first ep. i love her voice so much. (and then i was shook to find out she was in a ton of classic movies in the 50s and 60s but that’s another story lol)
ladies, hold the sun in your heart and have a good life!
maki was in despair and on the verge of killing himself, he asked aoki to shoot him on the chest so that the government/police can do whatever they want with the secrets in his brain. aoki hugged maki and said sth like "i dont care about those goddamn secrets anymore, i like you maki!" and then he proceeded to say that "okabe and everyone in the ninth like you and care about you too" lol. that's all i can tell, lets see if the drama will change anything.
here's what they said in the preview: (rough translations) takimoto: give me your brain. aoki: you mean they're really going to shoot maki to death? okabe: chief will probably never go back to the ninth. aoki: i don't care about those secrets. maki: that woman... aoki: maki-san, i like you. (that dude in suits from the police): you can shoot either superintendent maki or the man accompanying him. maki: (he said sth about not giving sth idk i'm suddenly deaf here) maki (to takimoto): the one who killed suzuki was me, not you! kainuma: the truth is you loved [him], right? (there was no subject/object in this sentence so he could be talking about anyone here)
you mean the fight scene in maki’s office? i love that one too, he really fights like a cat 🤣 if this was…
that’s so true. maki is the head of ninth and okabe is like its backbone. the drama’s doing such a good job adapting their relationship of trust to screen bc i don’t rmb liking okabe this much when i read the manga. he’s by far the best supporting character of himitsu xD i’m gonna miss them so much when the drama ends.
what’s with these users below that kept saying they’re too polite to be siblings? not every household is the same, not to mention the cultural difference. and what’s wrong with a younger brother being respectful to his 30-year-old sister?? i have a sister 9 years older than me and we do get along like that.
this was one of the best dramas i watched in 2022 (and i watched 129 dramas that year). well written, well directed, good acting from the cast and beautiful music. i freakin love the humor as well. it’s pretty much a well-rounded drama for me. didn’t know it was under-appreciated like this. now i feel sorry for those who didn’t get it.
I absolutely love Okabe and Maki scene in ep 10, I wish there was more interactions like this between them, it's…
you mean the fight scene in maki’s office? i love that one too, he really fights like a cat 🤣 if this was a normal boss & subordinate situation, that would be power harassment. but since it’s maki & okabe it was so cute and hilarious lol. i saw someone on x said maki and okabe deserved to have a spin-off mini series with just the 2 of them bickering over everything at work and i just couldn’t agree more, i’d pay to see that 🤣
also love that moment at the funeral when maki almost fainted and okabe got his back, that was a some good test of trust right there. i just love their dynamic so much.
i found the movie 2-3 years ago (after my last comment here) on jraws. unfortunately, the site has gone under…
no, i can’t send a dm everytime someone asks for the link 😭 don’t go to this page through your notification, it won’t show the latest comments. you have to manually go to this page again through search bar or maybe from one of the actor’s profile and you’ll see it.
alright, since some users here have requested and it seems like the movie isn't available anywhere outside japanese streaming platforms, i've reuploaded it on mega and put the link in the spoiler reply below.

a low-budget and simple yet surprisingly good and complex coming-of-age movie. healing can be a tricky process and nobody can save you from your traumas other than yourself, but the existence of someone or something dear and important in your life could change a lot. just them simply being there for you would give you the strength to face your demons and move forward. i love that they built jacqueline up like a real character, so witty yet endearing, and cleverly took advantage of her creepiness to make comedy bits out of it.

but don’t be happy too soon, the manga has that scene too and it was devastating.
