I think a drama about this topic warrants a good translation. You said it yourself, people outside China should know about these war crimes.

I think it won't take months but more like a few weeks for the fan translation to finish. If you're used to binging, of course I understand why you would opt for machine translation.

I just checked them and it's pretty bad AI translation. I definitely prefer the fan translation, it's more detailed and carefully done. This person include additional notes and tag what language characters are speaking.

I watched another drama with the same ML as in the Kite, it's called 暗算 (Plot Against). Liu Yunlong who plays the ML is also the director. This drama is divided into three parts that can be watched separately, I only watched the first story (around first 10 episodes). It tells the story of a blind villager who helped gather intelligence during the civil war. I became a huge fan of Wang Baoqiang after watching this haha. Hope you like it!

Haha this is my motivation for studying too. I would say this drama doesn't have very difficult vocab, so it can be easily understood by someone with HSK 4 and above. I occasionally do some lookups, but it does't stop me from enjoying the story. Are there any other dramas you watched without subs that you can recommend?

This drama has to be one of the most original and clever things I've ever seen, so I'm wondering if you remember what you disliked about it? I mean the poor production and amateur acting are the two obvious flaws, but given that this drama had been in the vault for 6 years, I'm inclined to overlook that and cut it more slack because the writing is pretty good.
