I'm not sure what I've just watched (not in a really negative way). There is A LOT of stuff going on. Also, we have a bunch of characters. This is weird, but I found it a little bit tacky and peculiar but still not in a wrong way? It's hard to explain. I don't have a big experience with older korean dramas but I watched a lot of the turkish ones and I kind of got the feels of them. It's pretty messy, but entertaining. I want to give it a chance. If you wanted to watch it - do it! The first episode is not bad, and we still have 15 episodes more. I think that they might be different from what I've seen today.
I'm genuinely satisfied with all I have seen in today's episode. I will miss this story and the characters, personally it hit the right point and the overall message touched my heart. It may sound cheesy, but that's how I am. : ) I had high expectations before airing and somehow I weren't disappointed. Waiting for a new episode always was exciting.
Big part of you might be disappointed by my comment, but I think that the writer exactly knew what he was doing with putting today's ending scene into the story. This episode was a transitional but important one. A lot of things met the end today, a lot of impactful words were said. I was so proud and happy with Soo Ah finally saying goodbye to that abhorrent man and his mess in form of a company. She handled it very well. The scenes with Sae Ro Yi's dad were heartbreaking and beautiful. In my opinion, they were the key to the ending. I believe he let go of his past. It was full of wistfulness, hatred and pain. He went through so much, yet never gave up. I guess he realized that he need to move on for the sake of his future, now fully breathing - the stone that he had on his heart was way too heavy. He admitted it himself - his life has evolved to a less bitter one. He has his significant ones who stand behind that. The future became exciting.
He is above the chairman, he always has been. He is a very sincere person, he has his beloved friends, or should I say family. He is not alone, he never needed to cow anyone. Sae Ro Yi has sort of magnetism which make people stay with him. Yes, it hurt like crazy to see him kneeling in front of that disgusting man. But what seemed to be a victory for the chairman, was a SRY's triumph. He let go of his past and what's important - he has someone he can kneel for, while Jang Dae Hee has nobody. He, an old man felt completely uneasy because of one boy and fed his big, baselessly hurt ego with Sae Ro Yi's pain. He will die unsatisfied, in pain and despair.
Besides, I truly believe that we will see this kind of victory all of us wanted since the beginning. This was just a starting point.
The diversity of opinions and feelings is so fascinating here, honestly I don't remember the last time I was seeing so many extremely different thoughts on one drama. It's not a bad thing though, I believe it helps to understand some things from a different perspective if you are open enough for that.
With the pros and cons of this drama, I am truly sad that we have only two episodes left.
I have a weird feeling that something is wrong with the main investor, the whole situation and that man were suspicious for me. Does he have ulterior motives? We will see anyway...
“Do you need Yi Seo because she's competent? I'm just wondering how you feel, what Yi Seo means to you. Is she just an employee or do you have feelings for her?” Geun Soo said that in episode 9 and I am more than just curious how Sae Ro Yi responded. Hope we will find out in episode 11 and I can't wait to see how Sae Ro Yi and Geun Soo's relationship will develop. Geun Soo's “Did you have feelings for Yi Seo before?” in the trailer and other stuff made me uncertain about them being on good terms to the end of the drama.
I like what I've seen today. Complicated and straightforward at the same time; the episode hit the right emotions.…
Oh, and I need to give a little bit of attention to my girl - last scene was a complete fire and made me really emotional. I will thank kdrama gods for (finally!) an intelligent character for ages. You see, in many situations like that I was praying for this kind of solution, but a lot of writers eventually decided to torment their characters even more. My dream finally came true. ♥
I like what I've seen today. Complicated and straightforward at the same time; the episode hit the right emotions. If I need to describe it with one word, it would be a ''frustration''. Of course not mine. It was weirdly satisfying for me to watch all of their interactions, yet made me sad - nobody likes that feeling when something is not going the way they imagined it to be, even with a completely down-to-earth expectations. Sae Ro Yi was frustrated with his business, Yi Seo and Jang Dae Hee with him, Geun Won with his precarious situation and Geun Soo with all of them at the same time. It's only natural that fortune is not on people's side everytime and that applies to everyone. I love how the drama portrays it and has mini, kind of hidden main themes every episode. This time not only my dear Yi Seo was a hero - Geun Soo was it too. I am thankful for that one person who can understand what's going on around him.
There were a lot of really good on going dramas in the past few weeks, even months but this one absolutely has my heart. I welcomed the feeling of being fascinated by the drama, but at the same time totally vexed because of the constant waiting for new episode. It's delightful. :) I had high expectations before airing and at least for now, the drama didn't disappoint me. Of course I need to mention how much I love the fact that the script discusses the serious, actual topics, but you probably read about that dozens of times. I'm curious how will they handle it to the end. The next thing that makes me completely amazed is the complexity of the characters. No one is unpurposeful here, no one is shallow, and if you really try to understand their actions, you will. For example? Jang Geun Won behavior has some depth. In many, many dramas (and not only!) negative characters are written very poorly. Yes, he is terrible but we actually can guess why. He has his own monsters under the bed (e. g. the chicken scene, it is just perfect to make us know how his and his father's relationship works and what kind of people they are (and they aren't the same!)). Talking about scenes like that (i. e. the ones that are here to help us understand the characters, in the past or not), they are done really well, they just get straight into the point. I encourage you to pay attention to them, it helps when you struggle with understanding the characters. What's worth noticing is they aren't perfect, they are ordinarily-extraordinary and that makes them absolutely beautiful and interesting. They are extremely relatable and I can see a piece of myself in everyone. Also, they are morally grey, I love how we are being played by seeing them in various types of situations and relationships. They aren't typical. That's one of the biggest advantages of this story and I think we all need to embrace the characters with who they are and how they are developing. I will start with Yi So - she's a complicated character with a personality disorder and strong ideas. I love this girl! I know her actions may be weird for some of you, but I wouldn't try to understand them just in only one dimension. Am I biased? Yes, a little bit and I am not even sorry. Next, Soo Ah - she and Yi So are somehow alike, yet so different. We saw her background in ep. 6 - the girl basically only had herself since the beginning, she was absolutely scared of being typecasted; she can't understand her own choices and emotions. That makes her passively aggressive in some way, yet vulnerable; and after all, she's pretty strong. As a feminist, I'm a fan of a women's portrayal in this drama (especially Yi So's, not gonna lie) and if it wasn't for Sae Ro Yi, I think that the two of them would found common ground. :) (I don't like women's rivalry that we learn about since we were kids, but that's the completely different topic) The love triangle is handled really well, finally it's not annoying, even if I am a fan of only one pairing. My next topic - acting!!! It's so good! Someone wrote some time ago (was it here?) that Park Seo Jun was posessed by Sae Ro Yi and I can't agree more. I have never thought of him as his real self while watching this drama, and there is no one who would be more suitable for this character. Nara is great in her role too, she perfectly captures Soo Ah. When it comes to the rest of the cast, they are doing amazing but we still haven't seen that much of them. But Kim Da Mi, damn... She's a scene stealer for me. Her acting is crazily good. The way she portrays her character amazes me. Her expressions are great and I often focus only on her. For example, the scene which in she's telling Sae Ro Yi and boys her opinion on Hyun Yi - when he called Hyun Yi and said those absolutely good and significant lines, Da Mi's facial expressions were everything. She's a phenomenal actress and if you are a new fan of her, I encourage you to watch The Witch. Also, her chemistry with Park Seo Jun is perfect and I love them together, his and Nara's is very good too, but it's not on that level, imo. The whole cast's chemistry is great, though. Starting with the Dan Bam's employees and ending it with Sae Ro Yi and Jangga's ceo.
As you can see, I'm totally obsessed. I'm so sorry for making it so long, just needed to express my thoughts somewhere and it's not even everything - I need more of this story to write about few things. Thank you for reading.
She made wrong choices. She just never understood she could be in love with him as well. She felt her life will…
In my opinion, she said that because she wanted to prove Yi So wrong; to show Yi So and actually see how Sae Ro Yi will behave towards her + it might had been something she did out of a guilt, first for even wanting to call the police and second to keep him away from her. Soo Ah is completely lost in her own decisions. I love how complex these characters are. My observations may be wrong though.
So far I love it! The storyline seems fresh and watching it is just pleasant for me. Characters have won my heart, especially Yi Seo. I also think that her and Sae Ro Yi have great chemistry. Can't wait for the next episode!
This is the first drama that made me really cry, and I've seen quite a lot imo. I was fine until the last 20 minutes of ep. 24 came... Couldn't stop crying.
