I think I preferred the Chinese Version. The Korean Version was very simple, and the character development and relationships with the characters really paled in comparison.
I think the only part that the Korean Version won over the Chinese Version in was the visuals and the aesthetic sets (but also consider the fact that the Chinese Version was 2011). And, well, I think the visuals were a big turn off for viewers who generally watch Korean Dramas, because half-bald men aren't really their 'style'.
This is also because the Chinese Version had a whole lot more episodes, but the character development and relationships was much complex and interesting than the Korean Version. In the Korean Version, I think any viewer could tell that Hae Soo was going to end up with the 4th Prince, and I couldn't tell her love for the 8th Prince. It just wasn't there. In fact, I could barely tell that Hae Soo had any romantic intentions with the princes. On the other hand, in the Chinese Version, it had me guessing the entire time who Ruo Xi was going to like. Ruo Xi was very realistic too, with her internal turmoil. She wanted to love the 8th Prince, but she was also selfish, and did not want to love someone who ultimately failed. And, really, the best part of the Chinese Version was there was no 'bad guy'. In the Korean Version, they made a mistake of adding the 3rd Prince, and I think they also portrayed the 9th Prince badly too, and making them seem like the 'bad guy'. In the original version, there was nobody who was 'bad' though. The 8th Prince and 4th Prince both hated each other, and Ruo Xi stood on both of their sides, but ultimately chose a side. I think the best part about the Chinese Version was the arguments between Ruo Xi and 14th Prince (aka. 14th Prince yelling at Ruo Xi to make up her mind), which showed the realistic parts.
I got chills watching him. The entire drama, I was thinking about Sassy Go Go when I got Second Lead Syndrome, and I was praying that it wouldn't happen again..
A movie fairly well for passing time (especially on a plane). The chemistry between a lot of the characters was light, but that's the point of the movie, a light-hearted plot. The visuals in this movie weren't bad.
I can't believe I actually managed to find this on MDL. I only new the Chinese name of the drama after all. I remembered watching this with my mom on TV when I was younger. Along with Legend of the Condor Heroes, this is probably the first Asian Drama I watched!
I'm just wondering, is the plot the same as the manga of Boys Over Flowers? I read the manga, and watched the Anime Adaption. The plot was kind of iffy for me.
