They already have a character that looks alike with other one from season 1. Two such characters it will be too much. JMO. Plus. Kim Yong Ji`s character did not have a romance with Lee Rang so they can explore other stories with them. I understand your desire to watch Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah again, but I understand the producers too. They need a fresh/new story and other characters to appear. The essence of the first season will be there. They will tell the stories of Gumiho brothers (other stories that happened in the past). I am sure other immortal/ mystical beings will appear as well.
For your favorite couple, you will always have season 1 with a complete story. Perhaps both actors will appear in another work someday.

Why? Because the story is in the past and because there will not be romance.

Yeah, I know. I understand why people are asking why they want to release another seasons. I am wondering myself. I just hope the writer has a fresh idea for these new seasons.

I see that lots of people think the writing for the first season was not very good. What is the chance that the script to be better this time? I am worried. Why the writer did not come up with a new original story set in 1930s? But that`s it. I wish the cast and crew for TONT2 good luck.

I am also confused. The story of how Lee Yeon became a mountain god is more suitable for season 3. The second season is in 1938 and I read that he was a mountain god when he first met his first love in Joseon. Maybe they will show the flashbacks of his mountain god time when he met Hong joo, another deity. Or it is just a mistake in the little synopsis they released so far. LOL

That`s the good approach. LOL. I am also going to watch this series with an open mind because really this genre is not my cup of tea.

I believe that If Jo Bo ah really had an offer and she refused, It would have been another character than the reincarneted lover. Or the writer changed the story for another female lead after the rejected offer or a new female lead was her intention from the beginning. Who knows?

No, they had the first script reading on April 18 and recently have started filming (on April 20 or21 ).

But from what I read, he never met his reincarneted love again until the present days (2020). To meet her, isn't that a reinterpretation of what was originally said? But everything is possible. Who knows? To please the fans the writer could write such a story. But if you like the reincarnation stories and romantic love story of searching for the first love why not watch just the first season? If you read that the third season will have the story you want you could watch it too if not, the first season will be enough.

I know that Kim Yong-ji will appear in second season. I think she plays a different character than season 1 but I don`t know if it is related to the other character. I have a feeling she will be a human this time, maybe a Korean independence activist but let see. It is just speculation at this point. I know that in the first season Lee Rang and Kim Yong Ji`s character had a beautiful friendship. I don`t like the reincarnation stories so I hope she will play another character (unrelated to the gumiho from the first season) and I am curious what kind of relationship they will form this time.

The people are worried that the story told in 1938 will invalidate what they found out in the first season. That I understand. But the major complaint is the case, that "God forbid, Lee Yeon could love have loved another woman". That`s the real fear of most people. They don`t even accept that he might liked another woman before Lee Ji Ah. LOL. No matter who would have been cast as the female lead would had faced the same comments. Not to mention that some people can not differentiate a character from an actress. That`s what make me sad the most. Cheon Seo Jin is not Kim So yeon just like Ryu Hong joo is not Cheon seo Jin or Kim So yeon.
The writer did not want to write a sequal for the first season because she did not have other story to tell. Lee yeon lives a happy life with Ji Ah. What is more to tell? They are happy. What Lee Yeon might have lived in the past won`t change this fact. Period.

The writer felt that she had more stories to tell about the gumiho brothers. She wanted to flesh out their story and their characters. They lived for so many years.

It is a 12 episodes drama. I really really doubt that the writer has time or interest to tell another love story of Lee Yeon and I don`t believe she will tell this kind of stroy. I don`t care who is Lee yeon`s greatest love. If I will be interested in that I would watch the first season. Maybe it is easy for me watch the new season without any attachment. I want to know more about him than the romantic gumiho perspective. And I am sure we will see more about Lee Rang too. For someone who did not watch ther first season, I will expect to see a good comradery, a good fight between good and evil, interesting characters, Korean folklore and urban legends in the background of the 30`s. I am interested in the mountain gods stories (and not necesarry because So yeon plays one) and how they will interact. I want to know all of them. I am curious how the Japanese colonial stories will intervined with fantastic creatures.

I am not expect much from this drama but I am hopping for a good story for everyone involved in this. Fingers crossed.

The romance tag is just a guess from the people who updated the page. No other news confirm the story for the second season. It makes sense that the younger brother to have a love story this season but it is a high possibility to not be a happy love story either.
They said this season will tell the story of Lee Yeon becoming a mountain god (I am confused about that. He was not a mountain god in Joseon?) and the story of Lee Rang, that was not told in the first season. They never mention a love story for the old brother.
The writer can make a satisfying story for both fans of season 1 and new audience.

I have not even wanted to see this drama in the first place but for Kim So Yeon I will watch it even if I don`t like the stories of fantasy kdramas as their plot are weak for the most of them. IMO. I agree with you on the seasonal dramas. More and more kdramas became seasonal series and I don`t like it much. I also like to see a well planned story, with a beginning, strong middle and satisfiying end.
I can understand the worry of original story fans about creating a new story but we still don`t know what this season will be about. Perhaps it won`t invalidate the original story. The majority of fans are so worry that Lee yeon will love Hong joo (So yeon`s character). What if it is not the case? I don`t know anything about the writer but for me, the major concern is to not see a coherent story, with character growth where all the characters have a meaning not just fillers. I don`t really care who was the love of Lee Yeon`s life, who he loved more. All I know is that he lived for many years and I can accept that he had emotional connection with other people (including women) in his long life. That doesn`t invalidate the great love for Ji Ah (or whatever her name was). For someone who did not watch ther first season, I will expect to see a good comradery, a good fight between good and evil, interesting characters, Korean folklore and urban legends intervined in the story of the 30`s.
If the writer felt that she had more to tell let lee what she had in mind. It could be a good second season or not. We`ll see. I am not very optimistic but I will trust So yeon to choose something interesting for her next project.

You want to know if it will have a happy ending? LOL. I did not watch the first season either. I am not even a fan of this genre but I will watch because of Kim So Yeon. I really hope she made a good decission to choose this drama.

Who says that he will fall in love with a different girl? Lee Yeon and Hong Joo along with the other two mountain gods ruled the Korean peninsula long before he met Ji Ah. If it was said that the human girl was his first love then, it is true. They could be just friends/comrades or enemies. Who knows at this point?

There is a current conflict between SBS and MBC regarding airing date of two of their dramas with the same female lead (Lim Soo Hyang) . Both dramas want to air in May. Let`s see how this controversy is going to end.

Kim Hyun Joo and Park Hee Soon! Love the cast. It is like Undercover when Kim Hyun Joo`s charecter discover that the husband had a secret life. Now it is reversed. LOL The husband in Undercover run a bicycle repair shop, now in Trolley the wife runs a book repair shop.

I am interested to see Shin ha Kyun in a sitcom. Let see more informations about this drama.
