My subtitle said that he "installed an app", not that he planted a bug/tracking app. And then he said he gave MIL the cloud password, which to me indicates it was an app to extract creds so he/MIL could access the cloud where the recordings were also backed up.

- I dont think they ever said it was a diff cloud , iphone by default saves stuff to icloud tied to your apple id. CH only said he installed an app, so prob an app to grab creds to get into the cloud (like I mentioned below). - NIS bugged Junik’s house, and when MIL found out she told CH to go look for the bugs. - ML planted bugs all over the new place FL moved into... one we saw was in the living room so he could listen on CH’s convo w/ MIL when she dropped by. - They were gonna head to Mongolia, but that night ML got a "thunderstorm" alert tied to Mongolia. That didnt seem like a normal weather push, I think it signaled tht someone else already knew their travel plan. Thats when he realised that someone else (Ethan was his main suspect) prob still listening to their convo. - They wanted Mongolia bc thats what they talked abt during/after the deed, and ML spent 2 yrs in the Gobi Desert after escaping NK so it’s got sentimental value, instead of just a place to escape.
Just, you know, for science and no other reason in particular but has Kang Dong Won done romance in any of his…
Temptation of Wolves and Too Beautiful To Lie (he even sings and plays guitar in this one :D). He has also done a short movie w/ Song Hye Kyo, check out Camelia/Love for Sale, and the movie is mid but I thought he had fire chemistry w/ her.
Chang Hee tells her he has given MIL the cloud password, we hear the clink of the necklace in the recording so…
yes like Ivy said, you can hear the clink in that audio which is the moment she put it in the glass. maybe no one bothered him yet bc he doesnt usually monologue to himself like in a typical kdrama lol.

I think Chang Hui said he installed an app on FL’s phone, not that he literally bugged the phone? It could have been an app to extract credentials, bc later he admitted giving the cloud password to MIL, which lines up. And bc the pendant recordings were auto-saved to FL's cloud that explains how MIL could access them anytime.
the mother in law was obvious, but the old man?????
I really didnt suspect him until Kim Jose popped up and talked abt the Argentina farm. Then I remembered he had talked abt moving there when he first met Munju, and thats when it clicked to me.

The person who installed the bug in the necklace said that the recording would be backed up to the cloud in real time. So since Chang Hui gave her the cloud password, the MIL was able to get the recording.
Can someone tell me did the fl really kill all those victims previously back in the 2000s?
the drama hasn't finished yet, but seems like it. She is thinking too much like a serial killer that she can profile the copycat. I'm just still curious whether she acted alone/there's an accomplice.
Political move 1 : Discredit the opponent. Look how quick the professor was branded a spy and 'removed' The professor…
I found it interesting that the govt was using the "NK spy" accusation to shut down people speaking out about the war. Kinda like what the authoritarian military govt did in the 1980s to silence protesters/students/activists. Also, having the NIS involved and bugging houses is similar to what they did back then.
As of episode 5, Stella Young moved to Korea 10 years ago and FL's husband's illegitimate kid is 9 years old.…
He also has a drawing of Poland, the one he pulled from the drawer to show Sang Ho, and he mentioned that they travel a lot.
I think Stella is the mistress/Hanna, but the final boss is the MIL. That last scene with her packing the kid's clothes and then putting envelopes inside felt intentional. Maybe those were purchase contracts? the same ones Anderson Miller got a copy of? Also where's Hanna? Why was only the MIL doing the packing?

I hope not! I'm not a fan when something that starts light and fluffy ends in tragedy. But yeap! At least there's always the tasting scenes to rewatch and soften the blow if it comes to that!

Yeah I get that, written text can sometimes come across with the wrong emotion. I hope I didn't sound like I was attacking either, bc that wasn't my intention at all, I just want to explain my point. I agree, diff discussions and theories are what make it fun, and I appreciate being able to bounce ideas around here.

I get what you mean, and I dont disagree that they've shown care and attraction for each other. For me though, I just wish the show gave that change more space to breathe instead of stretching the competition, bc then the growth in their bond would feel even stronger. And yes, ppl are watching this drama for diff reasons, some stay for the food, some for the romance, some for the politics. I prob would have kept watching w/o putting it on hold if they had leaned more into the politics, bc that is what interests me, but I knew from ep 5 they weren’t going that way. Either way, that is what makes these convos fun, seeing what clicks for diff viewers.

I know you asked earlier how ppl were being dismissive (which was then deleted), and this is kinda what I meant. Saying "just watch, am sure you'll call it rushed" can brush off why some of us feel that way. It’s valid for ppl to think the romance feels rushed, esp if the last few eps haven't shown much deeper growth for them. It's a good starting point that trust and respect are there, but what really makes it land is seeing how that trust builds and how the characters change through the relationship. Different ppl ofc will react to it differently and that's totally fine, we cant all like the same thing.
Are you me? I stopped watching around the same time, not dropping it but more like "eh, I'll watch this later".…
I feel you. That's kinda why I don't watch a lot of romcoms these days. For me the first half is always the most fun bc you're curious how they'll fall, what pushes them to change, and how the relationship shifts. But once they finally get together the story often loses steam and just recycles conflicts to keep going. That's why I prefer romance to be a subplot and have the other element (mystery/politics/whatever) drive the main conflict, bc at least that keeps the stakes alive while the romance can grow more naturally in the background.

I dont really see an issue from the King's side when it comes to romance with his royal cook. This is still Joseon, and kings could and did take palace women as consorts. That's why there were several scenes where the FL keeps remembering the phrase "receiving the king’s grace" and shudders, which was a euphemism for the king’s sexual favor. If anything, it was more unusual for a woman to serve as a royal cook, but that beside the point. I feel like the bigger conflict is on the FL's side. As a modern woman she’d prob object/at least feel uneasy about being seen as a concubine.
And I'll also gently push back on the idea that romance cant develop if she has to return to the future. For me, that actually raises the stakes, their bond has to be strong enough to make the goodbye hurt/the chance of reunion feel meaningful.
