Overall, this is an ok watch - typical palace intrigue and the body-sharing aspect was a nice twist. Good chemistry between leads. I bit sloppy in lots of parts - but if you can just go with it - it's worth at least one watch.

My only real negative was I thought the ML was way too skinny and pale - seriously - the chicken legs and ghost white skin - like, dude, get outside in the sun a bit. Other than that - it was super-fun and main couple was great - you can tell everyone had a blast filming this.
Also don't usually get SML syndrome - but I kind of did on this one - while still ok that main couple stayed together.

A poorly written and executed drama and I would say that THE ONLY reason you sit through 40 episodes is for the ML - you can pretty much put up with anything for that long to watch this beautiful man.
I don't know what the obsession in c-drama land is with the huge age-gap, but its soooo doesn't work most of the time - cause its not about the physical age as it is about the maturity gap - and this one DID NOT WORK.
The biggest reason being the FL - they make them too childish in both behavior and they way they style them. This one is no exception - that horrible pony-tail and baggy jeans that made her seem like a high-schooler, and the bratty, childish behavior - just made the character annoying for most of the drama and she never really feels like she matures (mostly, again because they never change her out of the pony-tail and baggy jeans look). I always find it interesting that they do this to the FL when all the other women around her look at act like adults - yet the FL is alway frumpy and childish
So - whoever is writing these characters - needs to take a better look at portraying young, adult women

Just finished this up and would have to say, it was just ok. Pretty standard historical palace drama - same-old, same-old evil characters and players - nothing new or exciting as far as a story goes. Not sure why they made this 20 episodes - really could have (and should have) done this in the standard 16 - cause it really started to drag starting around episode 7/8 pretty much to the end.
The boys really do carry the show - PHS, YJS, LTS, and HWS - the four of them are really the only thing that are this worth watching.
Having the tiny females trying to pass pass off as men is getting old and tired - neither of the female characters were even close to believable (ok, the SFL was a bit more, but the FL was not even close). Can we just stop doing this. I struggled with this character for other reasons as well - she was just inconsistent. They start out of the gate with her being this amazing fighter and badass and then almost immediately abandon that. She is supposed to be this brilliant investigator and someone with amazing deductive skills, but misses some of the biggest clues, jumps to wrong conclusions and makes super rash decisions - it just doesn’t fit. She spends way too much time crying and they left her in the eunuch role for way too long.
I think the two biggest flaws with the drama are the pace - it was just too slow and there really isn’t that much chemistry between the two leads.

Overall, this is pretty good. Loved the ML - just watched him in GLory and almost didn’t recognize him. FL was just ok for me - they overplayed the ‘crazy’ and she became a pretty one-note character. I was also disturbed by how much she was physically violent with the ML. The style of filming was fantastic and really made the drama.

Overall - I would say this ok to petty good
It was nice to see Leo Wu in a a modern drama and he definitely pulled it off - you can totally see him growing as an actor and I am looking forward to seeing him more things - especially romantic dramas.
FL didnt really impress that much and the character was pretty one dimensional
While I found them to be cute together - not a whole lot of sizzle to them - so the romance part was just kind of 'meh'
Some of the better characters for me were his dad and their interactions - especially the scenes at the wig store, Chen Ke - she just had this wonderful calm steeliness to her, especially once she decided to do something, Leo Nina - the BF - one of the best BF character out there - I loved, loved loved that she wasn't the stupid, side-kick bf giving stupid love advice and obsessed with dating and boys

This is sooooo good and one of the better endings of a kdrama in recent years - kudos to actors/ writers - everyone involved - I was truly surprised at how much I liked this one as makjang's tend to be a bit much for me - but this one was GOOD! My only spoiler/warning for those that are triggered - there is some pretty extreme school bullying violence - so beware

ok - I was not expecting this to be so good - but, omg, so well done!
If you want a well written, well-paced, great cast makjang - this is for you

Overall this was just ok - but the writing at the end just killed it

I will give them a brave attempt at taking on infidelity and divorce in SK - this is still a HUGELY taboo and stigmatized thing (especially for women). So I get what they were trying to do - but it ultimately failed for me because they kept recycling the same stuff - so it got old and slow pretty fast. Mostly kept wanting to yell and both the ML and FL as they made bad choices and we were supposed to feel sympathy for them because of how lonely they were - but everything kept getting framed as if the only choice was have an affair and this weird, overwhelming fewer about divorce and overflow sense of obligation and responsibility - they just played that card too much and could have done this in half the time. Would have liked to have seen the leads get their shit together and kicking their awful spouse to the curb instead of the redemption path (especially the ML relationship - we don't really see what happens there).

Seriously, one THE best drama series out there. It paces well, great humor, amazing actors/actresses throughout - truly wonderful. Can't wait for season 3!

I didn't hate it - mostly enjoyed it - just had a few things I didnt like about it. What I would just like to see is people playing age-appropriate roles - stop casting actors/actors in roles that 10-15yrs younger OR older than they actually are - this goes for both male actors and female actors - it never translates well.

he should definitely get romantic roles - that is not my point - it should just be romantic roles that are his age instead of playing characters that ar 10-15yrs younger than he actually is - cause its starting to show. ITs much like Song Jung Ki in Reborn Rich - just didnt translate well

Overall a good watch - the last 3 episodes kind of ruin it a bit
Things I loved - Princess Jiamin, FL's parents, ML relationship with Emperor
Things I hated - I think its time for ML to stop playing young prince roles - he is 37 yrs old now - lets putting people in roles that are half the age (mostly), makeup for both leads - caked on for ML and just too much for FL, bad kissing scenes

This is one of the dumber rom-coms out there - especially the FL - why do they continue to write them this way. She was just so dumb and annoying throughout the whole thing. Really bad at her job and there is no-way I am buying that she is a MMA fighter. She spends the majority of the show lying to her dad and the ML, she is self-absorbed and just dumb as rocks. Just no, all the way through.

Not sure why I watched this all the way through - has 3 of my least favorite things - religious theme, reality tv/game show theme and Kpop industry theme - add in all the horrible mullets and a not so clever script and its a hot mess.

Just finished and have to say, it was pretty boring. I generally don't mind slice-of-life dramas - but there has to be something interesting about, you have to be able to get invested in the characters and that just doesn't happen here. They just weren't that interesting - especially the FL - she was just kind of , blah. I did not get the appeal of her at all.
I also could have done without the over-excessive propaganda spin for the SWAT department - it was a bit overkill.

oh, I don't find her as annoying as many others either - she is kind of in the middle for. And whether the crying/pouting thing is done in a sneaky way or not - it's still emotional manipulation - she is intentionally using this emotion to get what she wants and that's not ok. And, yes, the illness thing is a total plot driver - but its just done so poorly as she even says at the beginning that didn't bring any medicine with her
