Since the show is about 12.5 hours long and released 6 hours ago they're clearly lying about having watched the whole show... to be clear for me fast-forwarding through a show at 2-3x the speed is not an accurate watching experience because it's not what the creative team intended and the details of the actors performances and the direction get lost in the rush. Haters love to get out in front to trash their targets for whatever reason.
BUT every single time travel cdrama ive watched has a terrible ending... so I think im going to wait for this…
Double transmigration stories have the advantage of them both returning to the present with all their memories, so the ending can be much happier. fingers crossed for that here!
I think some international viewers didn’t understand the end. It’s actually a rebirth loop that tied together…
Traveling into a story and staying in the story is not allowed by law for cdramas. So the writers come up with all kinds of tricks to get around this kind of modern person in historical/fantasy setting. It's the same for time travel stories - they're not legal so the censor board won't let them be broadcast. If you see "characters fell into a novel/game" or a modern person falls into the past/fantasy world then there will always be a "back to reality" ending - no matter how clunky or weird it feels compared to the rest of the story. That's what is called the censorship ending. It's always good to check the comments because people will let you know which episode or scene to stop watching at if the censor ending ruins the story.
How is this a remake? In the film he's a self-centered, model-handsome stage magician and she's his underappreciated, shy, plain assistant. It's a really fun film that's worth watching but the only similarity I see between it and this drama plot is that the female lead can see ghosts.
7.4 is a pretty good rating for a mini actually. The scale for mini dramas is lower than for full length shows here on MDL - even a really popular, well-regarded minis like A Familiar Stranger is only rated 8.3.
this cesspool of a comment section aside - i wonder who actually bothered to use their media literacy skills and…
Netflix should be the target of everyone's anger because they have blatantly switched what was on screen. It certainly is Netflix I'm disgusted by here. At the same time, I completely agree that the screenwriter should have not included an actual horrible crisis from reality in this fictional world. A lesser offense but still not good.
I called them "Chinese short dramas" and "Chinese douyin dramas" haha1) Short dramas refer to dramas that you…
Thank you for sharing Zhai Lin's profile. I looked at it and realized that every drama they've written is either a favourite of mine or on my PTW list! I didn't even realize they were all from the same writer :)
Hurrah for this article! I love mini dramas and I'm thrilled to see them get some attention.
Most of the ones you've listed are on my PTW list or I already love them (A Lucid Dream and Undercover Affair are soooo good!) but you shared a couple that are new to me so thank you!
I completely agree with your review! They kind of rushed the ending bits (even two more episodes would have smoothed it out) but oh wow what a wonderful ride it was!

Thank goodness, because D+ "subtitles" these days are often mediocre close captioning.

The biggest challenge is finding subtitle sources. I'm so grateful for the comment sections here, which can be so helpful.
