The remake drama team prob wanted to make it so that they remain a couple in the m/m form and accept it. Then at the end they do bungee jump... for fun though to scratch something off their bucket list they always wanted to do as a couple - not to kill themselves. And mister stick in the mud og writer was like "no!!!" lol this is my bet or something to this effect.

True I was thinking that those scenes prob did help make a significant impact on the viewer and helped rally the Korean populace to demand change. But still, they are hard to watch...
