I haven't watched Fangs of Fortune yet, maybe I should give it a try.

Yes, I guess sometimes viewer taste is hard to justify or understand. I also have a fair share of shows that just matched my mood perfectly for that specific moment and which I most likely woudn't watch some other time.

Yes, I think it's time to declare defeat and maybe come back and read how the story ends. In all honesty, I love the FL character. But I am tired of inconsistencies around ML (for example, his army not knowing his face while he spent so much time on the battlefield with them, yet some random people knowing him when it serves the plot; or him randomly appearing in the right place and time and saving her from falling off the cliff). I guess I am indeed missing some action or more character growth or change. Somehow, the show lands flat for me.

Haha, I feel like somehow there is a disconnect in styles looking at other comments. I wonder if that has to do with pacing. Not all of those that I mentioned I equally liked, but I rated all of them above 8, which is a quite decent rating for me.

I loved Love in the Clouds, but I get it. On the other hand, I found that I enjoy Lu Yu Xiao acting. Somehow she seems very realiztic and natural to me. Hou Ming Hao has a calm presense overall, which I liked.

I am up to date, on ep 27. I keep watching but found myself hitting the skip button too much over the past few episodes...

I genuinly think I am missing the point of the drama given high ratings. The pacing is off for me and I have to convince mylself to stay engaged. There are so many plot holes and the revenge plot abandoned completely, almost no intigue left, very little things left to explore. I really loved a lot of constume/historic dramas like Love in the Clounds, A Dream within a Dream, Legend of the Female General, The Double to name a few. So I am so lost about what I am missing. The only great thing that keeps me engaged is FL character.

I am not a fan, so I do not have the context. Hopefully people focus more on the drama.

It was cute, fast and easy watch! I am genuinly surprised by ratings, I saw much worse shows get closer to 8.5 scores.
