Love the article.
I hope they work on breaking that cliche and have more nice guys who win the girl.
Though I'm not a fan of all good guys, there are few I would have preferred much more than bad boys (like in playful kiss).
I didn't think that I would watch whole review, but you have interesting voice and the way of speaking that draws people in.
Good review. Coffee Prince is one of my favorites.
I waited until today to watch last two episodes of this drama because I was afraid. "Will they spoiled it at the end?" was something I kept asking myself and postponing possible disappointment.
Thank goodness! There was no disappointment!
I'm so happy with the ending. That time skip made it even better.
I'm still under impression I keep smiling without a reason. :D
I think they started using time skips/jumps again.
In Coffee Prince Eun-Chan went abroad to study (to become better barista) then there is Dal Ja's Spring (also some kind of training for her career), Goong (exiled queen), Flower Boy Ramyun Shop (Cha Chi Soo had military training but that was more logical than others), Full House (Bi Rain/Young Jae went in mountain to live with monks for some time lol), Lie to Me (ah yes, Ah Jung - Yoon Eun Hye for the third time - went to that resort and started looking for that stupid pot)...
And not mention that they usually don't call each other during that time.
I've just remembered two interesting heroines that are cool in mature woman kind of way. More like a woman than girl power.
First one is Hwang Ji An from I do I do, who is played by Kim Sun Ah same actress who played Kim Sam Soon already mentioned in the comments as a cool girl.
And the second one is second lead from Dal Ja's Spring, Wee Seon Joo played by Lee Hye Young (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Lee_Hye_Young). Even though in first episode she looked like a antagonist there is some air of coolness the way she handles situations silently and elegantly which wins you over even if you think she's a bad girl (which she's not).
They are both independent and soon to be single mothers.
I think not everyone gives the word heroine the same meaning. It depends a lot on our own experience, age, taste…
I haven't watched many dramas mentioned above but I share the same opinion about Go Mi Nam.

I think somebody accidentally credited some of the Lee Hye Young's (younger one) roles to the older actress since they have the same name.
I tried "converting" people before. I wanted to make my brother and friend read Korean webtoons. Unfortunately I failed. That's why I'm discouraged about making them watch dramas. But I will try again if appropriate situation comes up.
I fell in love with the character when I watched Queen In Hyun's Man. Smart, nice, brave and so cool. Who could want more!

Imagine the two of them together and Oska's mother, no, better yet whole family finds out. lol

For some reason Ha Ji Won reminds me of Oguri Shun in that As One poster.
Ah, but there are lots of examples of that cliche.
