i kind of feel bad about what how the plot treated he wenshen's character. he seemed like a really upright and moral character but i guess getting his marriage proposal rejected revealed his true character... like he really couldn't let bygones by bygones and instead held onto the grudge till the end.

Yeah... I mean the princess royal's daughter got a worse death than her mom did. Thinking about it again, maybe the emperor didn't want to air the royal family's dirty laundry so that he can transfer the emperor title to yuqi peacefully

uhhh WHAT you telling me in the end, the princess royal got off scot-free for her crimes by the emperor? she killed two of his sons and for that got a higher title post death... honestly death by a stab is the easiest/laziest way to get rid of a villain imo...a true spoiled rotten villain

all i can say is that the main couple can't seem to catch a break once yuqi regains his prince status, dealing with enemies from left and right. just when one is defeated another pops up to remind us they're still part of the plot OTL i'm tired for them

ep 27 and when yu qi kept only giving flowers to jiang si, i was squealing at the sweetness oozing off the screen

totally agree! that's one of my favorite dramas because we get a solid 1-2 eps of the main couple just being happy together and enjoying life. like no ambiguous "lead turns around and sees someone off screen" ending

I'm looking forward to her lead role too! I really disliked Li Meng's character in The Double but man did she steal the scene every time she appeared.

shen yu rong's character...honestly it's ep 33 and i am TIRED of seeing this guy wallow in self pity over killing his wife. i would've had a bit of sympathy if he fought for them but he didn't. his mom threatened suicide and he gave in just like that. it's a little too late to regret it now that he's realized FL has moved on to greener pastures (ML who will absolutely not hesitate to back her up even when the odds are stacked against them)
