Previews can be misleading. I'm not convinced.

I like how it plays with tropes. Like the scene where Moo Hak wakes up on Dali's sofa and pulls her in and everything goes soft focus and slo-mo for a moment so you think it's a dream sequence and then whoops it's actually happening! Also that she initiates the first kiss and initiates sex (and is thwarted, poor thing). And that the misunderstandings aren't dragged out so you don't get artificial conflict. It's all extremely well done and yes Min Jae is perfect! I can't believe he's only 24, he reads late 20s-early 30s in the drama.

It's true. For example, Touch Your Heart is close to a pure romcom and it completely ran out of plot once the leads got together. The early episodes are charming and the later ones are a complete drag.

I felt the same way except for when Dali and Moo Hak argue over hiring a publicist. I liked how that brought out their values and contrasting points of view. Both were right and wrong: Moo Hak should've consulted with Dali before doing something like that and Dali should know that the gallery has to be run like a business so it doesn't go under.

Thank you for this. I'm watching the show now and cannot understand why this is so beloved. NOTHING HAPPENS. The FL is irritating and unappealing and dumb as rocks. The attitudes towards women are regressive (the only woman who works in the neighborhood is the wife of the school principal and she's a bad mother who doesn't cook for her son and doesn't notice when he runs away because you can't work and pay attention to whether or not your child is home 😒). I also have a problem with how the show glossed over social problems. The student protests that Bo Ra participates in were hugely important - in 1987 they overturned the military dictatorship that ruled Korea at the time. But the show treats Bo Ra's political interests as trivial compared with her relationship with the boy next door. Anywho, thank you for your review and a chance to rant, I was starting to feel like a crazy person since everyone seems to love this show so much.
