Do continue! im currently watching this as well, and it's been great so far. the politics doesnt try so hard. and Hu Ge's character has been mysterious- it's intriguing!

it aired 4 eps already, no romance involved so far. but as i can perceive it, i dont think there will be... and if there will eventually be, i think it will come at the right pace^^
the episode count is definitely overwhelming. didnt want to start this before cos season 2 was already airing 1/5 of the episodes when i discovered it. but when i started ep 1 of season 1 there was no getting away! finished season 1 in just 5 days. that was 40+ episodes! hahah! @redxxxcrimson you should give it a go^^

I just really finished it, woke up to my period *ssshh* by 3 am, so I needed to be awake bcos of the pain. so I decided to finish this. the cliffhanger got me so curious tho I could already have had my rest, i decided to start season 2 right away. im quite sad but i'm trying to be a bit loose abt An di's story here. im just loving Yingying's part and her cute suitor(who resembles Huang Xuan<3) and i cant keep myself from clicking on the next ep. cos Guanguan's story makes me excited too!

im also glad i picked this up just recently so I had the benefit on seeing season 2 without waiting too long^^ Currently on EP5

Wei wei was not selfish. he only took An di's dad when his investigator reported that he(dad) was investigating abt An di, too. He wanted to show An di that she could abandon the idea of the ticking bomb when she could see that another blood relative was a normal person. Of course he thought a long time about revealing this to An di. The father might have come at the wrong time, impatient for his daughter's approval of meeting him. But you have seen that An di admitted it herself that it wasnt Wei wei, but she was the problem, she loved him so much she didnt want him to suffer. It was not a plan to make him love her more.
Lao Tan on the other hand admitted it too that he was not brave enough, he could've revealed abt An di's dad but chose not to, because he knew he did not need him? that it was an unbearable situation? He underestimated himself. If they were friends then I believe that no matter how unbearable the truth can be, An di should know he only wanted the best. There is and there will always be a longing for and orphan to find abt her parents. She only thought she only had a brother because that's all she could remember.
But when she finally had the resources, she also tried to investigate abt her father. Call Wei for becoming illogical, like how could he have not thought that An di might have searched for her dad herself ahead with all the resources that she had. But Wei could be the one to help them break the hatred(?)-- not necessarily,-- but the idea of the ticking bomb. He wasnt trying to be a good shot. He wanted to help An di to think right.
Lao Tan wasnt brave enough and had no confidence in their relationship as good friends cause he only thought of not hurting An di and not for challenging himself and helping her have the idea of a family. Wei had ways of analysing a person, you thought he couldnt have done that to An di too, to know what is to be said and done in a situation? Professionals and big business men surely have studied a bit of psychology to do well in their business.
Bao was nothing like this. He was rude(simply looked down to people of lower intellect, not thinking he was just blessed to be born in a good family and had all the time to read and learn to be of a higher IQ) and a plain flirt to An di. He could agree and have the same opinion or mindset as her but you could see that he was agreeing to almost anything because he wanted her. Invasive and treated An di's friends well so he can have her. Plain flirt.
Wei wasnt like that, although he knew, he reads people, and knows what to do in a situation, he still gave him her free will (Xiao Fan incident: to help or ignore). Well, he is a business man and who in their right mind would risk a large sum to a stranger, to someone who is just a neighbor. But he still was open to the idea of An di helping and just giving Xiao Fan a good sum beforehand. And a person of good conscience, mind, and of confidence would do that IOU thing. Nothing in this world is free,c'mon. So he really considered An di to be a person still. And didnt impulsively help An di's friends and treated them greatly just to be a good shot.
I may not have read the novel and have no idea who An di might end up with. I just dont know how the writer could make turns of events from this (cos if Bao were to be, I could already predict it will be for a shallow reason (light and fluffy romance) unlike Wei who really wanted to HELP An di.
