Can somebody spoil me? Does this have a happy ending and when I say happy ending, I mean, does the romantic main…
Happy ending, and one of the best endings I've seen of any show I've ever watched. there's only 1 misunderstanding, the ML gets tricked for a few episodes (it clears up pretty quick though).
it has more to do with how modern vs historical presentation. A primarily female cast isn't necessarily propaganda, but pointing out seismic in a way that reflects modern day societal issues is. Plus, there aren't any real "hard rules", the government has final say-so, but it's usually the streaming services that decide not to air something since otherwise they lose government support. Also I love seeing monkey joked in HMH's dramas. I think it's starting to become a running gag- they've popped up a few times
Censorship laws got stricter and this wasn't compliant. I'm not sure if we know the official reason, but one of the rules has to do with feminist propaganda and since they travel to a women-only region, I'm assuming it wasn't compliant.
My friend and I are both caught up on the webtoon (not the novel) this is based on. How much of it is adapted into this movie? Will there be any spoilers for content that hasn't made it into the webcomic yet? (We aren't expecting it to be good, btw. We just want to check it out)
worth watching? i put it on hold around the first ep idk if i wanna pick it up again
depends on the type of tone you like. episode 1 feels like it has a different vibe from the rest of the series- it seems more lighthearted and feels kinda out of place. This is a dark series with a SUPER toxic ML. If you're coming in expecting it to be sweet and happy, it's not what you're looking for. I don't usually like toxic relationships (I dropped Revenged Love), but they actually make a point to show how messed up it is and there isn't any "I did not consent but I secretly like it" moments so I'm enjoying it. it's fun cause you're rooting both for and against the couple. I think it's worth watching, just know what you're getting into
Get together: around ep 22/23First break up: ep 23Make up: ep 25/26Apparently there is a second break up at around…
obviously it's totally fine if you don't want to watch, but I will say that there is an EXTREMELY good reason they "break up" both times. (the 1st time they weren't actually even dating. they ended a fake relationship because they couldn't trust each other). the 2nd time also had nothing to do with them as a cp, life circumstances forced them apart. It doesn't feel forced at all and instead gives you delicious angst and some of the best acting from HMH I've seen yet
Do we get to see Ming Yi kicking butt later? I don't want to know when/how/where, I just want to know if we see…
in the webnovel she gets most of her power back ~75% of the way into the series and then all the way back to what she was before in the epilogue, so I think we'll get to see her at max badass later.
Anyone have any idea when 27 will be brought back. I see he comes back with white hair i just hope its not like…
in the webnovel he never dies, just gets sent away to work somewhere else halfway through the series (he was a guard, not a divine beast). I don't think we see him again after that, Mingyi's divine beast (not 27, just a cat since in the novel they're separate things) comes back during the tournament. so I would assume he gets at least a couple episodes- I bet he and Buxiu will get to hang out again
I did not get the part with moongrass in ep 7. Did not they already cure his daughter?
from what I gathered, the dad didn't know his daughter was already cured and the ML was just messing with him. She's also cursed, which I don't think the moongrass can fix so she will go mad and kill herself anyways even though shes been cured.
um, obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but you might want to go back and rewatch that first episode again. She doesnt lose "for no reason". She was literally poisoned in that fight- it had nothing to do with the ML's power. She also defeated multiple people before she encountered the ML so idk about weak (the ML even says later he thought she was about to kill him but stopped for some reason). Her losing that battle and being poisoned is literally what drives the plot for the rest of the series (there are currently only 7 episodes out and so far this is the only battle in it so I don't think fighting is super relevant anyways). She hasn't learned to "manage her condition" because it's a poison she literally just got and has never had before that will take away her magic. She can't just "buy the cure", because it's so rare people don't even think it exists- another driving force in the series. they explain all this in the very first episode, so I don't understand why you think it's "contradicting itself" and "has no logic". I don't see any support for your claim of being "anti-feminist", doubly true when you compare it to other cDramas. Every female character that's shown up so far has been very well written
Also I love seeing monkey joked in HMH's dramas. I think it's starting to become a running gag- they've popped up a few times
