I don't mind these tropes at all if they are done right. For example, "Queen of Tears," "Perfect Marriage Revenge," and "Business Proposal" were all great. I've just been a little frustrated due to the C-drama "The Princess Royal." It ruined things for me and put me back in a slump. Because of that show I started to get fed up with these kinds of backgrounds which I never cared about before. I loved "Lovely Runner," where we had the biggest losers in love with each other.

Sadly thats the standard now its started with Marry my Husband, welcome to samdal ri etc and has not stopped the only recent dramas I like was lovely runner cause both FL and ML were simps for one another and willing to die for each other

It's a bit ironic how you say the second female lead's love of 10 years annoys you, but the male lead loving the female lead for that long doesn't. It's the same they are both fighting for their love. How is one better than the other?

It's an issue from both sides of the spectrum. Some review it negatively because they don't like certain aspects, while others give it a 9 or 10 just because it features their favorite actors. I don't agree with either approach. As someone else suggested, reviews and ratings should be locked until at least half the show has aired.

I haven't seen many criticizing this some are annoyed due to the cliches, which I personally don't mind, as there's not much you can do with such stories. I do agree with some though on MLs background which I wish was different but oh well.

They are just posting their opinions, and there's nothing wrong with criticizing bad tropes and practices that have plagued recent K-dramas. Most are just frustrated and hope it can return to good rom-coms. Also just to add my 2 cents the synopsis do have an issue as it implies ML being FL first love but thats not case and seems one sided so I can see why people are angry.

no one is bitter or insecure but annoyed as most recent c dramas and K dramas are using the same trope I don’t care about past relationships but it’s like every drama is trying send the same message can you honestly say that all the fans who praise these sort of tropes will not say the same if roles were reversed? Look how much hate sfls get in all shows. I am still looking forward to this drama and will watch it but just gonna let few episodes build up.

Meanwhile, the female lead likes the second male lead and has an ex? What's with all these recent dramas following the same background? Lol, yeah, Twinty has been defending this like no tomorrow. She even blocked me because she had no counterpoint to any of the issues I raised other than "PWX did not want to let go of LR in this life." But just one question if Twinty ever unblocks me why is PWX so madly in love with LR? How could he stay single and endure public humiliation while she openly flaunted another man? The show never shows never explored his past more and shown why PWX stayed loyal and what made Li Rong so special to him that he could get past her living with another man for 17 years.

no, you are looking at this from a FL perspective try looking from the other side people who are angry are justified as even in the second life its ML who had to do most of the work from constantly being jealous because FL couldn’t make her mind or set clear boundaries drama made it look cute but at some point it wasn’t.

She never let go off SML even to the point of trying to save by jumping in fire while being pregnant furthermore everything you have mentioned try switching roles would you still defend ML if he was in place of FL answer is no as drama would br rated so low or cancelled as majority of audience cannot stand ML having SFL. Overall i would suggest reading Dramaslot review in her website as that I believe perfectly summarises the whole drama.

Sadly, as this is a female-centric drama, many of its defenders fail to understand why it receives so much criticism, especially from a male perspective. It's hard to believe that a man with such looks would be treated in that manner. Unfortunately, this trend is common in recent dramas from East Asia. The same issue can be seen in Kdramas one that comes to mind is Welcome to Samdal ri where the male lead is depicted as a literal doormat and a simp.

You’re right, no one is perfect, but let's examine the whole situation. When LR thought it was PWX who betrayed her, she treated him terribly while also trying to marry SRQ in her second life. This happened in the early episodes. SRQ, who actually killed her, was constantly shown sympathy until the end of the show, where she was even willing to jump into the fire to save him. And let's not talk about all the longing looks, the romantic OST, and how she easily believed anything SRQ said.

The reason most viewers are angry is that she failed to convey the same feelings and resentment toward SRQ that she showed towards PWX and LC. LR is a very flawed character without much development, no matter how you see it. She hated PWX in her past life due to a misunderstanding about him being in love with QZZ, but she forgot that she was literally in a relationship with another man. In the second life, when all misunderstandings were cleared, she still couldn't let go of SRQ. That’s what I call being a hypocrite—she is everything she hated others for.
