I said it depends on genres as certain ones are *more likely* to get higher ratings than others. Obviously it depends what majority of MDL users watch and rate. I never ever said romcoms can't/shouldn't get higher ratings.

That might have indeed been the case! I can see it being more likely than she herself breaking into the hospital which is the idea most seemed to imagine. It's this thing of leaving it up to viewers imagination which I don't like about this drama. We should have known everything she did THROUGHOUT - the only mystery should have been "who is Sarah Kim?" at the end of the last episode. That they also had a dozen plot holes inbetween makes it weaker.

Yeah what you said in the first part never made sense in the drama. She would have met so many people when she worked as Sarah Kim and they never get anyone to confirm it really is her. Like there's not only 2 people on earth lol. Also never explained how she just ended up with so much cash and they couldn't trace her.

As for the kidney - that might actually make sense because you can't prove an organ came from your body just because of a scar. It could be anyone's kidney and she could have the scar for several reasons apart from organ donation. The only way to prove it was to test her DNA with the tissue from the kidney, but again she had that destroyed. Except they never showed how or when she did that? It's true this drama had good concept but had plenty of holes.

There is no romance in this drama. The FL has a sexual relationship with a man at one point, but there's nothing romantic and I can promise you that. It's also very short for a Kdrama so they understandably couldn't have fit in any romance plot.

I gave my opinion, which I can rightly do 💁. Firstly I never said a romcom can't have an excellent rating - infact I like many romcoms and have rated them great. I also never said the ratings was bot behaviours either, infact didn't even think of that.

Haven't you ever watched any wildly popular dramas that you thought was pretty Nah/generally bad in most aspects? For example you would also understand that it seemed puzzling why a drama that had bad acting or plot (in your opinion) was rated so highly.

It would ahve been named the First Blossom if they were less creative. Jasmine atleast makes this stand out 😂

I did like this drama and everything about it was soo perfectly nice and green flagged, but Idk it didn't leave much impression on me? For example it was nice for a one time watch, but I likely won't watch it again and I rated it 7.5 as an average drama.

Does anyone else feel this way? I adore dramas in this genre and I would have rated it 9.5 or 10. So I'm sad this didn't feel like that for me, maybe just not my vibe of romantic healing drama 😞

It's very mixed - and as I said seems to depend on genre. When Life Gives You Tangerines which was just as popular as LR has a 9.4 rating but less than 100k users rated it.

Twinkling Watermelon (2023, and very similar tropes to LR) has a 9.2 rating from 105k users. Very deserved I feel, but again in comparison it feels like LR should be lower than 9.

There's very few dramas which have been as popular as these in the last few years though. My Demon (also 2023) was very popular when it came out but only has an average rating now.

Also another realisation! On Reply 1988's page it says a 9.0 rating from 70k users who have watched it over 10 years. LR has the SAME rating from 100k users in 2 years.

As you said it might likely be because MDL users like this genre. Which just goes to prove that MDL isn't accurate and reliable because only dramas in certain genres get more ratings. There would likely be many more who have watched Reply 1988 as it's very popular + also been out far longer, but maybe those viewers are not on MDL to be rating it.

That's the main difference though I feel - it makes sense why a deep, fantastically written drama can maintain it's 9+ rating. Even over 10 years.

But I can't even see why this drama still has a 9 rating even after 2 years. There have been many better dramas since then too. But as you say the score for LR will likely drop over some more years. 💯 % it's going to be that kind of drama that ages badly over time.

8 episodes would have been perfect for a short drama and just to end it there with Namiki staying in Japan with Yae regardless if she remembered him or not. But since they added the abroad arc they should have gone all the way. It was too rushed for just Ep 9, they should have had a 10th or even 11th episode so then reuniting made sense. Their reunion in Ep 9 was barely even a reunion because it ended just when they met again. Just my opinion, I generally agree that the ending was poorly executed too.

I also really liked it! Watched it a few months ago and might rewatch it at some point in the future. It's a lovely drama, though not perfect (the ending could have been better written IMO) it is still very watchable. I rated it 9/10

I'm talking about this drama Boss and Me. That is indeed how he pursues her, he starts pursuing her very early into the drama probably by Ep 3. He was already interested in her and soon after he was inviting her to eat with him even when she never wanted to.

She never actually wanted to be with him for a long time into the drama because of other things going on

It was a happy ending, but it was very abrupt and they squeezed what could have been 1-2 episodes more into barely the last 10 minutes. The whole drama was an extreme slowburn so it needed a satisfying ending. But it didn't have that. Of course not spoiling it directly, just laying out the problems with the pacing of the end.

I would still say it was worth the watch, some might not mind the abrupt ending as long as it has a HEA. It just depends on yourself I suppose. You might find other things to love about it - the leads do very well and so do the younger actors playing them in the past timeline.

Not watched any of her other dramas yet. But I have heard lots about how Legend of Shen Li and Story of Minglan are great dramas. They are both historicals

That's not what happened. He chased her for a long time and she never wanted much to do with him because he was her boss, and also a cold and intimidating man.
