These weird time jumps happen in The Early Spring too. Am frustrated with dramas never stating how much time has passed but still having the same environment several years later.

I think it's also that she feels she looses her agency and independence. She formed her company from the ground up, she didn't want Han Ting to intervene with whatever he was going to do with it management wise. But actually when she goes to Germany during their split, she understands more and doesn't blame Han Ting.

But yeah Han Ting could have also explained and prepared her more.

I agree with this! A lot of dramas have such huge time jumps for their break up period, when it isn't necessary. 3-5 year time skip would have been perfect and more realistic.

But it was up to her whether to stay in that company or not. He never even let her choose. He attempted to control her life by arranging for her to stay working at Lime and win the award the next year. All without even asking her if that's what she wanted.

I'm also glad she left both Luke and the job. She developed her own independence and was free of toxic Luke (until she accepted him back again)

Several other dramas have toxic relationships, the difference is they are written well, have good pacing and believable plotline. Eventhough I wasn't fond of Lighter and Princess (just can't watch it again 😬) , it was still very well written in terms of everything. I couldn't even give it that low of a rating even if I wanted to.Whereas TES doesn't have that. The characters and the development of their relationship makes no sense at all. The plot is also all over the place from Ep 18.

But as long as you have lots of hot sex, what's not to like? /S 😂

In reality, this relationship wouldn't last long. They didn't even seem like they talked to each other or had a strong enough foundation to last long. Their 6 years together were as shaky as it was. Also cringing at people liking this standard of relationship and type of man!

You really see the difference of Flora with Luke, Vs Flora with her friends and family. She is capable of being joyful and having a personality. Yet it looked like that side of her always slipped away when she is with Luke, she seemed more uncertain when she is with him. Not the kind of relationship that is reccomended at all. You should always want someone who makes you feel like yourself

And maybe not mature enough IMO. If viewers have to complain about anything, sex and nudity are an odd choice unless they are 15 or something. People had sex and went nude since the beginning of time, including East Asians. Please stop being so judgemental about it.

You fully covered everything I thought about the drama. They were a meaningless couple, with only sex being their strongest point.

You mentioned the proposal, which just brought to mind that he listed the things he did wrong to clear her misunderstandings DURING the proposal. I would have thought it cringe if I had enough energy to care for them by that point 😂

And Anna bothers to communicate with Christian unlike Flora who never opened her mouth to Luke.

But also the important thing here, men like Christian and Luke would not be romanticised if they did not look as they did and did not come with the wealthy CEO tag. I said this in my review too, but even young naive women like Anna and Flora would never have looked twice at these men without those factors. Even the audience who 'love' material like this would be the first to be against it

I think the ML's stand out more to me though because it's just bad. Whereas FL has good make up and it suits her even if it's a lot.

The ML is wearing more make up than the FL and it's distracting in the first episode. Not even an expert of make up here, but it's so obviously caked onto him. Soo much white foundation, he looks like a vampire 😂

But he should have communicated all of this to Flora. He never told her if she wanted to stay in the job in this scenario. As she ended up leaving anyway. If he had asked her she might have still left her job anyway, and he didn't need to leave for the US.

Also if she ended up feeling guilt he had to move to the US branch for her, it would have just led to more complications between them. It was already bad as it was.

They will change it if The First Frost is anything to go by. If it's based on a different couple, it won't be a sequal to this drama. It won't be a series that they need the same cast. Jing Boran also won't just come back to be a supporting cast.

The overall story - the plot. They were basically just doing their jobs and the story doesn't tie into the main lead's lives until Ep 7 and 8.

Especially when his brutal words are more impactful than his actions (which we viewers largely see, not Flora). Also if that's what he says he would do then it's not unreasonable for Flora to believe his words over supposed actions he may/may not do.

You think him being verbally abusive is him being "honest?" LOL no, normally no one would tolerate the shit he has been saying. He has been rude and condensing to her throughout the relationship. He has no filter and just hurts her over and over. She gets upset, potentially wants to break up, he says sorry and she forgives him. Rinse and repeat. An endless cycle of both of them being completely useless in this 'situationship' (calling it this is probably most accurate since even Flora doesn't know what it is really)
