watched 14 episodes so far and decided to drop it. a pity because i was so invested in the first few episodes until it started showing clichéd subplots, antagonists and merely surface level chemistry between leads (the chemistry had me hooked at first) I'm also disappointed by the characters of both leads. again a pity because i liked both of their acting.

I'm not done yet but so far I'm liking it. it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea because it's developing slowly, showcasing each stage carefully. which is why they divided it into two timelines. those aren't flashbacks, flashbacks are meant to be short. they're showing the past because it portrays how each of the lead's emotions are slowly changing. if one isnt into watching slow romance, this definitely wouldn't interest them. also the fl in no way acts like an immature teen so I'm really confused abt that part. anyway i hope you find smth that you would like.

whoever styled li wu's hair in the present timeline did a really good job, it suits his features. on that note I realised that this young actor has been able to (I'm on episode 9) portray the difference in his character between the two timelines really well. I was so fascinated. he has a lot of potential, i hope he goes far.

hey, i havent watched this drama yet but i believe this page is free for anyone to express their opinions on. the commenter didnt disrespect or harm anyone, just said that the drama was cringy for them. i think we should stop getting mad at people for not liking a show we did. sure, its unacceptable when they do something that brings harm. other than that as a viewer everyone should be able to express their opinion, stop making it seem like only good reviews should exist.

I absolutely agree with what you said! That is exactly what I avoid in romance dramas. If any of the main leads is like that, I don't hesitate to drop it. I'm not here to fulfill unrealistic fantasies, I just want to enjoy healthy romance. Because of my taste and pickiness in romance, I no longer watch kdramas because nowadays they are all about the male lead revolving around the female and people hyping it up because, of course, it's green. Moreover, back to TFF, I also felt bemused at how Sang yan literally had no other bond. There wasnt a single scene of him genuinely being with his family. (You would expect that a person who loves someone like Yifan would learn to cherish his loved ones, but oh well.) Same goes for friendships. I sensed no bond between him and his friends. His friend has no parents, his dog died, but where is sang yan? Clearly, his character was shown to care for no one except Yifan!

Your review is absolutely perfect. For this drama, I havent come across a review so relatable. I had exactly the same issues as you did—not really grasping the depth of their bond. I was also both okay and not okay with how sang yan's character was all about her. (He took a job all because of something yifan said to sang zhi, can you believe?) But i was still going forward because i had to see yifan getting happiness, she had kind of grown on me. Until her character was ruined (at least for me) when she chose to leave sang yan again. I believe it rendered every bit of development useless. If even at episode 26 yifan has that kind of mindset, how believable is her happy ending? Worst of all that was how sang yan wasnt even mad or hurt. Lmao i also dont get how people keep calling sang yans character green flag. He didnt even have a character, what green flag? It's sad how most people have the fantasy that a guy existing for a girl is cute and green. Not a green message lol. Anyway, i was so excited for this one so it's sad how disappointed I am. It does not get better. When I mean everyone, literally EVERYONE dies. Tho the leads reunite, what's the point bruh? I did not feel sad about even a single character's death. I disliked how each of their lives was considered so disposable. So only the leads are important? Scratch that, only Bai Shuo is important because even Fan Yue keeps dying repeatedly. None of the characters was written well, otherwise it would've been a better watch for me.

Majority of people will not agree with me, but personally speaking this was one of the most frustrating shows I've ever watched. While the plot was very solid, it was executed in a way that gave me a massive headache. Dont even get me started on the characters. Not a single likable one for me. I'm surprised that you found the story shallow so early on, it wasnt until episode 15/16 that I started having a headache. If by then it doesnt get better for you, I suggest dropping it because really, I regret wasting time on this.

its beeen soo long since i have been thiss satisfied with a show!!! absolutely loved it. tho i did have some complaints in the middle, it totally flied out of the window not long after. 8.2 is tooo low!!
