It wasn't true that he didn't try to discuss the divorce with Hae In; he was. But at that moment, he got bombarded with the news of Hae In's illness. So he didn't have a chance again to discuss the divorce. And after finding out about the divorce, they should have discussed why he wanted a divorce, not whether it was true or not. Even in the preview for the next episode, we see her being cold to him, just like she was throughout their whole relationship after they lost their baby. Asking for forgiveness should be done by both sides. It shouldn't be expected that only HyunWoo has to ask for forgiveness. I know now you didn't mean anything with the "beg for forgiveness" statement, but I just feel that everywhere, whether it be Twitter or MDL, they are only judging the ML and making him ask for forgiveness while FL is getting a free pass just because she has an illness.

Yes that may be the case. But I just don't want to see him in another negative role like this. He should play some grey characters or maybe some good character as he has the charm for it. I think if see him in another big budget dramas, i will feel like he is the villain or the accomplice of the villain

Yes I enjoyed him in Into The Ring and Not Others, but he is getting typecasted doing only villain roles. He has an amazing acting range and should properly utillize it by trying different roles..

Yes, I did watch episode 6, and him asking for forgiveness in the church rather than saving his wife was his perspective on what he should do. You didn't properly answer my original question on why he should beg for forgiveness from Hae In regarding divorce. As it is portrayed in the drama, Hyun Woo is more open about his feelings, while Hae In is more on the conservative side. We saw Hyun Woo asking for forgiveness in episode 5 even when it was not completely his fault, while we haven't seen Hae being more apologetic towards him. We always see her as the victim.

You're contradicting yourself. I mean, when was Hae In ever honest about her feelings to Hyun Woo? Even when their baby died, she wasn't honest about her feelings. Hyun Woo didn't even know that her mother hates her because her brother died due to her, allegedly, even after being in a relationship for 5 years. Hae In didn't know about him being happy for her being dead, so that invalidates your point about her being cross with him. Even in episode 5, she had gone alone to Germany without telling him, while Hyunwoo had to ask for an apology. In episode 1, she was so nonchalant about the whole baby issue, like she didn't even care that they lost their baby in the past. She doesn't know when he prepared the divorce papers; he could have made divorce papers in the 2 years when they were sleeping separately, as she doesn't know the timeline of the divorce papers. Just asking for a divorce doesn't make one evil, and she shouldn't expect an apology for him making divorce papers.

Hey, I just wanted to ask why you think HyunWoo should beg for forgiveness. Asking for a divorce is not wrong. I don't think Hyunwoo did anything wrong by preparing divorce papers. And what do you mean by a healthy relationship? It isn't a healthy relationship if only one person asks for forgiveness even when it's their mistake, while the other person just acts cold about it.

I think the selfishness of Hyun Woo makes him human. My problem is not with those hating on him for wishing his wife dead; my problem is that on one hand, they are hating on Hyun Woo, while on the other hand, they are just forgetting the mistakes Hae In has made in the relationship. Just because she has an illness doesn't excuse her wrongs in the marriage. Just now on Twitter, I have seen tweets from people calling Hyun Woo a toxic, self-centered, and egotistic person and suggesting that Hae In should just get rid of him. Even on MDL, people are calling him out for his behavior, which is totally justified by the way, but when it comes to Hae In, no one is calling out her problematic behaviors because they have a certain sense of sympathy due to her being female or being ill, which is absent for Hyun Woo. I just want to support both of them as a couple, not just one individual, but these comments make me want to react to them.

I believe more people will start hating Hyunwoo after watching this episode. They don't even want to consider his perspective. Just because his struggles are portrayed in a comedic light doesn't mean they are insignificant. He also has his own struggles and views about what was happening to him in that house and what prompted him to consider divorce.
