I personally love it the first and second time. I think both MLs are great. The comparisons are not really necessary they just make for a good debate.

I love ML's fight scenes. It would have been everything If the leads had chemistry. Even the horse has martial arts (IMO). Episodes 23 and 24 are the best episodes so far!

That is exactly what I thought. I was like, did they skip four or five episodes? Where is the character development? He is not the only one who came out of nowhere.

Yes, where did that come from? I been trying to wrap my head around it for a couple of episodes now. He reminds me of the evil prince in "Princess Wei Young," if you have seen that.

Thanks for the response. I have seen this in many Asian dramas, and I just did not understand why. I mean, they will be in a room with bathing suits on, and frost will be coming out of their mouths. Are they that cheap on filming in China and Korea? This does not happen in the U.S. They would be arrested.

Why are they filming in a room so cold you can see the frost on their breath?

With this huge production what a waste of resources in picking the most of the male cast.

Sorry, I am just watching this so I a going to reply now. I think it was either love at first sight or when he locked her up in prison.

I have seen this male lead in a few dramas, and his acting is so "over the top," but somehow, it works. With that being said, he always delivers a brilliant, likable performance. I root for him as a lead. What I don't like, you get invested in his love interest, but his roles never give you the skin-ship and romance you want.

Why are they acting like she is a single mother she has a damn army to look after one child, and why is the young emperor not in school? He was supposed to have scholars and military genius' next to him. He has to read Mencius and Confucious why is he so inadequate?

Okay, I am nearing the end and it has gotten out of hand. Let me say I did like this drama and the pace was good until toward the end. Then they got off plot and started filling the space with nonsense.
First, the 2FL: How has she gotten away with so much evil unchecked? Can everyone be "STUPID"?
Second: How is the 2nd Fl able to walk around lurking everywhere all by herself?
Third:, No Emperor is going to give a royal edict to his concubine.
Fourth: The FL is supposed to know the future; so why is she completely dumb-founded

I am on episode 11, and I like the drama so far except for the FL. In Scarlet Heart, the FL was drop-dead gorgeous, but in this, not so much. I mean, to pull that many men they could have cast a little better. So far, this is what is disappointing to me.

It is hard to say who this story is really about. it should be called "Concubines Take Over the World".

Episode 23 is so good and so bad at the same time. It has an excellent storyline and directing such bad acting from 2ML.
