Oh, okay I get it. I am reading the novel and I have had to come to terms with the fact that It is not based on the novel but more an adaptation. So there are a lot of differences.
I did not read the novel, but I have never been so confused. The bouncing around with the scenes and the back and forth of flashbacks annoyed me. I found it hard to follow the plot. If I had not read the synopsis, I would have been totally lost. I did finish, but with a disappointed heart. I say this because the acting was outstanding and I do love Xanxia dramas, but this not so much.
That's incorrect. Feud outdid Northward and Moonlight Mystique in terms of popularity alone.

There is no romance (I am assuming Bl) tag, so why would you expect romance?Sorry but before watching you should…
My bad, and you are right, I should have checked more. I saw a trailer and thought it looked like romance, but I was wrong. I will try not to do that again because it was a waste of my time. Thanks for your reply, but could you be a little nicer?
That part is not in the drama, it takes place after.
Well, if you haven't already gotten there soon. There is a good amount of romance. I guess we have to look at her from the eyes of teenagers. Being 15 and being treated badly, it is hard for her to let go of her grievances and trust. But Zeshen, is also acting like a teenager, and his plotting and retribution all the while trying to love too.
Difference is ML entered her life first, she didn't.Shaoshang isn't perfect we all know that, Shaoshang herself…
I thought the "Red Sleeve" was unrealistic. As much as I wanted to like it, I was ultimately disappointed. It was interesting learning about the life of a palace maid, but I did not like the ending. She loved him, but didn't want him was not enough for me. Sorry, forget that I chose myself in ancient times.

Sorry for the interruption after you have posted so long ago, but I am on one of my many re-watches of this drama. I was searching through the comments for something to share. IMO the FL is a wild child of only 15 years old, after what they did, it is a wonder she can speak properly. She acts with the inexperienced heart of a child, so many of her thoughts and actions are immature.
You mentioned "The Red Sleeve", which I was so disappointed in. However sad the circumstances, I felt this drama was unrealistic for the times. Sometimes, drama land carries female empowerment too far. I hated the ending,
Ling Buyi character is truly the Grey character. He stayed ruthless and committed to his revenge till the end…
I watched this again after "The Prisoner of Beauty"; I needed that pick-me-up feeling again. This was truly a well-made drama, which we see so little of lately.
