one of my favfavfav humans irl is on MDL: BLfan22!  this is my BL buddy who loves asian dramas/films, music, and food too!!  i can actually talk about all this nonsense with someone who is really thoughtful and makes me laugh so damn much!!!!  we even watch dramas together sometimes!!!  i'm livin' the dream, y'all!!!!!!!!  <faints from happiness>

my fav profile on MDL: The Butterfly!  i enjoy their feed posts but what keeps me hooked is that every month they change the theme of their profile.  about a year ago the page was dedicated to pre-1960s films (with a black/white/gray aesthetic) and i was positively swooning.
last october's theme was THE MONSTER MASH and i found a must-watch for me: a japanese sci-fi from the 1950s called Warning from Space!  dear jupiter - check out this screenshot and the cover art!  what more do i need to know?!  {sold}

so before we get all hot 'n' heavy, i gotta drop this top bop from JUN & The8 (of SEVENTEEN) because listening the first 20 times wasn't enough.  it's from the OST for Seven Days {hard pass} and is like chinese rock meets spaghetti western...?  {is "lo mein western" a thing??}

 i started a spotify playlist of music by artists from MDL countries.  it includes the songs above (except JUN & The8's track and the two show clips) along with others i listen to.  it needs a lot of work but i'm tryin'.   ┐(^▂ ^ ;)┌

i got into international films and animation way too many years ago to remember how it all began, but january 2015 was the first time i watched entire episodes of asian live action tv - the video gaming variety show GameCenter CX [Retro Game Master] from japan.  around 2016 i finished my first asian live action series, the j-drama Atelier [Underwear].  i saw others from japan and taiwan sprinkled here and there, but my addiction really kicked into high gear in april 2020 after completing my first k-drama, My Holo Love!
