It's a push back and forth between traditional thought of people being who die by suicide as being sinful and selfish vs. folks who understand that many many difficult life things bring them to feel like it's the only choice. The RM team believes in the latter -- hence, why their purpose is to save those who feel they have no choice. They know people feel such despair for so many reasons, and that's why they follow these folks around, too, so that they can tell their story and what has brought them to this point of wanting to kill themselves. If you can bear it, it's really a wonderful story, but some of the people's circumstances are triggering and hard to watch.
ML's childish dreams / execution of trying to get his parents back together made little sense for a grown person. Being mad at his best childhood friend for telling him that he didn't have a right to tell about his parent's relationship was ridiculous. And then he leaves him? Right after they got together. Then, in the final 2 seconds, he asks "will you marry me"? When they were together for like 3 days? Idk. If that isn't a trash bin on fire, idk what is imo
I was wondering why everyone loves this show tbh. Also, the fact that Tharn's first time having sex was with someone who was an adult?? (I think i did the math right - his older brother is 23, he's turning 19 that means 4 years old and he was 14 when it happened making the older brother's friend, San, likely 18?) Like that's... unacceptable. Totally agree w you on this. Only finishing it to say i watched it in full and found it hella problematic.
