circling back to the convo we had a bit earlier about idols and kdramas.. a shame really
thank god we had gems this years like flower of evil or extracurricular with no idols or bad casting

It was his arrogant eyes for me, the way he would look at HJP, ugh lol
But yeah, I wouldn't say he's is an amazing actor either, though I don't necessarily hate his acting

She was so good in Tempted that I had to drop the show because of how frustrating it was for me to see her as second lead. First female lead was an idol (of course..) and her acting was so bad... Wasted potential. I never had second lead syndrome, but she was my first (hjp is my second). The chemistry that she had with male lead was incredible and she was so good that eveyone loved her despite the fact that her character was bitchy and manipulative.

Didn't even finish that one, it was painful from the beginning.

What I don't understand is why the writer didn't just change the plot to have HJP get the girl? Dalmi doesn't deserve him, let's be clear about that. But the way they just changed the whole script after the reveal to reduce HJP's screen time killed the show! That was the worst decision that resulted in the biggest plot hole (the no letters talk) and so many inconsistencies. Anyway, glad this is over tomorrow.

We should just stay away from dramas that cast idols that we know are not that good actors.

Yeah, like I just said to someone down in the comment maybe a better actor could have salvage the character a bit. Not to the point that we would have enjoyed the drama, but we could have hated him a little bit less.
But overall we can all agree that no matter the actor, the writing was garbage anyway.

But maybe that's what the audience was suppose to feel about NDS... Like we don't like him so we found it disturbing but they didn't put those scene for us to hate, we were suppose to enjoy them, and it failed. The thing is, those scenes are the kind of scenes that to a certain extent we can find cute (depending on the drama, the actor etc...). So why didn't we find it cute here?
Is it possible that a different actor could have salvage the plot a little bit is what I'm trying to say.

Yeah but maybe though he was out of character, it was suppose to be in a way that is not annoying ? Like he did the best he could with the garbage writing but maybe NDS was suppose to be more charismatic in his change of character ? Like I don't know, I don't understand wtf the writers tried to do with his character anyway but maybe his acting didn't help?

"WellI was never too impressed with either NJH" yeah neither was I, but it didn't really bother me (as for suzy it's my first drama of her). But honestly the kdrama industry is terrible when it comes to recognizing the true potential of talented actors anyway. They love to cast either idols (some as first lead even though it's their acting debut -_-) or popular actors (who might not be that exceptional) . That result in a lot of dramas/years but only a handful that are worth the watch.

Yes exactly, like I can't picture the director controling NJH's interpretation of NDS by having him act this way or that way, considering how free KSH was with his character.
