I didn't read the manhua so I am fortunate that I didn't have any expectations going in. I can imagine how difficult it is for an adaption to live up to expectations of the original, however. It's difficult for someone else to meet the image we have formed individually of our favorite classics. You are more than entitled to your opinion and most welcome to share freely with us.

#刘宇宁 #LIUYUNING ： before i entered into the filming team, i had to analyse about my character. so i asked the martial choreographer, “among all the characters, what’s my ranking for the ability to fight” and he gave me a list of ranking. my ranking wasn’t near the front. It was 5th or 6th place. so if you’re asking who is better at fighting between [Hao Du] and She'er, we can’t really tell. But I’m definitely better than wei shu yu. But you would realize that in this entire show, the people whom [Hao Du[ had to battle against weren’t that skilled in the first place. Initially, the people he had to fight with were those without great martial arts abilities. You’ll also realize that there weren’t much tough battles. He was more of a person who finished tasks. So actually there wasn’t much of a comparison for his martial arts skills. He was like a ‘street bully’ who could fight really well on the streets. but to fight with a real expert...including at the back when he had a fight with She'er.
Actually, he was on the winning side initially. but afterwards, he kinda couldn’t win against him. Although Wei Shu Yu was partly the reason why. Since the scriptwriter wrote that once he appeared, [Hao Du] lost his focus and was surprise-attacked. But if you were to say that [Hao Du's] martial arts skills are great, I don’t think that’s an objective saying. because the people that he faced were those ordinary citizens or those who caused trouble with average martial arts skills. There weren’t much opportunities for him to cross swords (battle) so you can’t tell how is his martial arts skills. of course he can still fight very well though.

I have my theories about that. In a nutshell, I think it was always there, like a seed germinating that hasn't started sprouting yet. Just like a seedling, love needs the right conditions, the right temperature, water, sun and care to fully sprout and blossom. In winter, just because we don't see the plant it doesn't mean a lot of activity isn't happening hidden away underground. I think this is a good analogy not just for HaoYan's love progression, but for Hao Du's blossoming as a person as well.
I have ideas bubbling in my head. When I find some free time, I'd like to write a fanfic for HaoYan :). Ha! At this rate, I might get fired from my job, and then I'll have plenty of time for HaoYan fantasies :). Ugh, adulting is sooo overrated.
