that's true but going into the past rather than present allows them to cut the number of returning characters without having to explain where they were.

Well this is a surprise. There are other series that deserve a 2nd season over this drama though. Also not surprised…
"She probably has better offers."

Like that reality show on a tropical island lol? More likely, "decided not to join" = "wasn't invited back". It makes no sense to have her character in the prequels. That they decided to set the seasons in the past rather than future tells you all you need to know. They are keeping valuable members and ghosting liabilities without looking like they are doing that. But read between the lines. Original TOTNT had a built-in-sequel last scene, yet they are ignoring that for the sake of setting the story in the timeline after Yeon lost his girlfriend 600 years before TOTNT events, and before he met her reincarnation in the first season. It's designed for the characters who weren't well received, and/or relationships that weren't well received, not to appear in new seasons. It's how the industry works.

🗣️🗣️🗣️ even I'm still waiting for Signal s2. Actually there's so many drama that have cliffhangers…
yes more so than this crap which isn't even getting a sequel but prequels. while dramas that need continuation to make sense are in limbo. I don't know how Korean industry approves of seasons but this is the weirdest thing to say the least.

Didn't expect this to happen, and I am not sure if there is a need for more seasons. However, seeing it is about…
it's hilarious that the very last scene of the terrible finale was total built-in sequel...and now they are making 2 PREQUEL seasons lolololololol. I guess they saw reactions to the finale and figured - correctly - that sequel was DOA. Still a crackpot decision to make more regardless of the timeline.

I did not see that coming. Maybe, bc I had a high expectations at first before I watched this drama. It just i…
I can't stand Tale's FL. I usually don't click with drama FLs (they are obnoxiously written played by actresses with obnoxious presence) and Tale one was the worst of the worst. I didn't understand why she was the designated Bella in this Kwilight since secondary FL and FL's BFF were much prettier, nay, they were actually pretty which FL with her crazy eyes was not. I also didn't feel any chemsitry between ML and FL and their scenes were ridiculous, something obviously written for teenagers yet applied to 30somethings. All those fluffy sugary dates and aegyo ugh. So that new Seasons circumvent FL by being set in the deep past is the right call. They might as well just pretend Tale never happened considering how underwhelming it was especially the finale. Perhaps that's what they are doing. Finale was such disappointment - I still remember fandom meltdowns - that they likely figured moving forward wouldn't do the trick.

A second season for what??? Especially if Jo Bo Ah doesn't join, what's the point of the first season? If they're…
it's 2 prequel seasons, Season 2 set in Japanese colonial era and Season 3 in Joseon (duh, what historical and faux historical drama isn't?) so my guess it's going to be the past adventures of Lee Dong and Lee Rang but you are likely going to see a lot of Shin-joo too, possibly the Samdocheon couple (Taluipa and Hyun Ee Ong), Snail Bride just to name a few characters who are immortals so they have to return.

amen on everything but especially gumoho trope dying off pronto! Korea has rich mythology yet it's gumiho 85%…
I'm watching Lovers of the Red Sky and, so far, there's Steppenwolf from Justice League and Wigen from Uncanny Counter who turns into a butterfly. I really like these mythological beings. I also liked the mythology behind Uncanny Counter spirits (and Shirtless Shin for visuals). So yes, they have other beings. Even Tale of the Nine Tailed had the Samdocheon couple, Snail Bride, Endookshini (best episode), etc but they all had to take the backseat to gumiho crap even though they were more interesting than gumihos.

Park Hae Soo is on fire! Squid Game, Money Heist, this, well deserved. I started watching Prison Playbook because I was impressed with his performance in Squid Game (MVP of the drama) and Kim Sung Chul is always entertaining. He really has range.

Claudia Kim deserves to be a bigger star. She was amazing in Marco Polo. Beautiful, great acting, charismatic, likable af (rarity among drama FLs I'm sorry to say), great at doing fight stunts. Whole package.

I'd rather they invest that money on better dramas. This show wasn't that good and the gumiho trope needs to die…
amen on everything but especially gumoho trope dying off pronto! Korea has rich mythology yet it's gumiho 85% of time with 15% being hungry ghosts aka zombies. Tale of the Nine Tailed introduced some more interesting mythological beings only to put them in the background cause gumiho crap has to rule right?

NOOOOOO! Why this TERRIBLE drama????? It was terrible and wasn't even a ratings performer! WTF Korea? Why can't we have Arthdal Chronicals Season 2? Where are Season 3 of Kingdom and Season 2 of Sweet Home, Netflix????? Why this CRAP???????????????????

I'm honestly not a hardcore shipper (because I cant choose between Saya or Eunseom). Like you, I believe Eunseom…
I thought that "they met as kids" is always a certified OTP trope in dramas. I hate that trope so much. That's why I expect Tanya/Eunseom OTP even though pretty much any other dynamic is better and sexier than that snooze.

Personally, I don't think they'll make Season 2 because S1 was too expensive.

lol You act like having a high birth rate is a good thing especially in this day and age. Maybe they're just smarter…
No because I don't stalk people like that. I know that watchlists, etc are public thing but I never cared to click on anyone's profile to see what they like or dislike. But point taken. Maybe they aren't into romance but it feels good that romance was trounced by Squid Game.

La Usurpadora is my first mexican novela that I've ever watch so far one of the only Mexican ovela that i like…
OMG yes! Adela Noriega is one of all time greats too!

I think that telenovela quality dropped when they started to immitate American shows which eventually doom any international production. People love them precisely cause they are different from American and then they start being just like them.
