It's not confirmed. Only confirmation we got is that he got shot and fell into the water. If there is a Season…
I'd say the whole point of 2 brothers, organ trafficking (that also goes back to the gang that GiHun owed money, and Gong Yoo is to set up Season 2. The cop was shot in the shoulder, than fell in the water and we never saw the body which means he's alive. His now evil brother gave him his kidney to save him so he definitely didn't want to kill him (the shot was more for the party behind him). Gong Yoo could well be the 001's son whom 001 mentioned gazillion times but we never saw, well, were never officially introduced to. So lots of potential for S2.
I think that we were supposed to figure out that Front Man was the brother, especially when they pointedly hid his face in the file the cop was reading, but that the actor was meant to be a surprise. So instead of "the twist is that FM is the brother", it's "the twist is that LBH is FM [who is also the cop's brother]". Worked for me. I was, like, wait waaaa??? :)
it's very big. I don't remember when was the last time that K drama was in Top 10 let alone Top 2. Vincenzo maybe? Foreign dramas rarely make it to top 10 unless they are Money Heist (latest season was #1), sexy Mexican series such as Who Killed Sarah, and some German (Dark) or Nordic (Ragnarok) shows.
Exactly what was predictable? I thought it was good until the end, obviously most of the last episode was used…
if most people thought that those characters would live than how is it predictable that they died?
Sangwoo had to start showing sings of self-preservation early or otherwise his turn would be out of blue and out of character. He was torn between his good impulses (paying for Ali's taxi, etc) and bad ones (keeping mum about honeycomb) and bad ones prevailed (hence betraying Ali's trust which sent him into a downspiral). That's character development, not predictability. Predictability would be if many people could guess that 001 was the gamemaster which apparently they and you didn't.
That Gihun would live was meant to be cause only 1 gamer would survive to take the prize so it was going to be him. Sometimes the mystery isn't who but how. He won because he was willing to give up the money to save his friend who wasn't worth saving, which in return moved his friend to off himself so that GiHun could win the money, for he knew GiHun would take care of his mother. Which he did (and Sae Byeok's little brother).
According to rumors on twitter Gong Yo is coming back for season 2.
well, evil grandpa 001 has an oft-mentioned but never seen son so my bet is on Gong Yoo. If Lee Byung Han could be the presumed dead brother than, yeah, Gong Yoo as the son of the gamemaster makes sense.
Why is this drama only 8.1? No romance eh? Poor taste MDL, poor taste. I' in the middle of Ep 5 and this drama is beyond amazing. Heart-pounding, great characters, great plot, great set design and the choice of classical music gives a chilling effect. It's embarrassing that this has lower rating than drivel like True Beauty and similar romance crap. Not that romance is bad but it's terrible in many high rated dramas.
