Feels rushed and it looks like they are still filming
Perfectly normal schedule for terrestrial dramas. The currently airing drama in the slot, Law and the City, finished filming last month, with almost the exact same production window as this drama. I guess people are becoming used to OTT dramas taking forever to come out.
Looks like Ep 7 will set a new ratings record on tvN as the reported real-time rating was much higher in than usual. Shows that word of mouth is doing its thing, which is well deserved.
I'm kind of assuming, based on nothing but the summary, that this might have similar vibes to Your Name Engraved…
I hope so! There were some really great visuals in that, some even reminiscent of peak Wong Kar-wai in its use of colors. But I think this will be a bit more mature, probably.
No hate just genuinely curious: did BWS star in any popular project except lovely runner? Also isn't lovely runner…
Yes, 20th Century Girl was very popular, as was his villain turn in Strong Girl Namsoon. Netflix probably don't consider it very risky on account of his current popularity. Acting is acting, and most actors will explore different genres as their career develops.
My biggest issue with Hotel del Luna was the lack of romantic chemistry between IU and Yeo Jin-goo (she had much better chemistry with Lee Do-hyun which kind of sank the drama for me). This isn't a sequel but seems to be set in the same universe. Hopefully the ML/FL chemistry works better in this!
Well sad news is that he acts like this one doesn't exist
Actually you just made that up. He spoke about it as recently as this year, in relation to the queer character he played in The Tale of Lady Ok. He talked about how he didn't feel pressure with Ok, because his debut drama was a queer drama, which was very precious to him and that he's proud of it. I'm so happy the Supreme Court ratified the previous court's suspended sentence. He can now focus on rebuilding his life. I see some media outlets are calling for "self-reflection" and "apologies" but he's already done both those things, for nearly two years, five months of which he spent in detention.
The success of The Match and Hi Five is a promising sign of his reintegration into the industry, and while he will probably lay low for a while now, I hope to see him on screen again in a new project next year.
The drama has not even finalized where it will be broadcast yet, let alone started production. Hence the article stating "The premiere date and broadcast channel of Four Hands are still in discussion." So I'm not sure where you're getting that from.
Its release date depends entirely on where it ends up, and when shooting will start. If it ends up at Netflix, the backlog is big and their 2026 calendar is filling up fast.
Sounds like a great comeback project! If he accepts the offer, hopefully it will be a terrestrial tv drama and not a Netflix production, so that we don't have to wait until 2027 for it to come out.
I am starting to wonder if it will ever be broadcast, I think Ok Taec (or his manager) is having second thoughts…
They've signed a contract so they have no say in its release unless they want to pay hefty penalties. It's up to Netflix. I assume it'll come out before the end of the year.
