Right? I doubt she’d turn on XH again, but wow… the compassion she had for her criminal master, father, and…
I thought she would be more beside herself and go out of her way to support and thank XH when she found out the truth, considering everything that happened. This… is just painfully underwhelming and sad. Not a single apology or even a HINT of regret from her side…what 🤯the actual hell 😒😤😑LCC is all about LCC - I can’t with her anymore.
Seriously, LCC is the WORST! After finding out ALL the stuff her father did, do ya think she would go to XH and…
Right? I doubt she’d turn on XH again, but wow… the compassion she had for her criminal master, father, and brother somehow evaporates when it comes to the man who literally risked everything for her 🙄
On episode 5 and I’m confused why is she mad at him, she should be mad at herself, he just saved her. And why…
She wasn’t reacting to the rescue — she was reacting to the terror and helplessness that happened before it. The slap comes from fear, humiliation, and adrenaline spilling out as anger, not childishness. And fear turns into anger really fast, especially for someone as timid and trauma-shaped as she is.
She’s also defensive because she has no one fully on her side, and the whole situation was unfair to her from the start — he didn’t take her seriously enough, so she had to investigate on her own just to be believed and gather clues…leading to his rabbit messing with her (without him realizing it), but she was the one who ended up paying the emotional price.
And honestly, the fact that she did slap him actually shows growth. She’s finally comfortable and secure enough around someone to express emotions she’s never been allowed to show before. It’s messy, but it means she trusts him — she finally has someone safe enough to react to. Don’t worry, they both settle into a healthy dynamic pretty quickly and have good team work.
I like the fl but I hope she gets character development and becomes bolder and more courageous because like eish…
She does develop — she starts off timid because everyone in her life treated her like she was unstable until she met the ML, but she gradually gets braver. There’s also a really fun twist in the middle that flips her whole character in the best way, so definitely stick it out. 🙌🏼
This drama had me fully invested at first. The mine-slave storyline was gripping and gave the show a strong emotional core. But once the plot shifted into multiple realms and larger mythic conflicts, it started to lose the sharp focus that made the beginning so compelling. With each new realm introduced, the story felt less grounded and increasingly directionless. The leads’ performances carried the show, and they’re the reason I stuck it out—but by the end, I felt pretty detached from the story and the writing. I could have even overlooked the painfully poor special effects if the plot had kept its early strength, the potential was definitely there.
The earlier episodes (and good acting) really are the backbone of the whole show IMO; they’re the only reason I give this a mid-rating instead of something much lower. Had the show sustained the incredible energy from the opening arc and delivered a more satisfying end, it would have been the EASIEST 10/10. 😢
At least so far we know she did all those because she really cares and loves ML, and the country. And she doesn’t…
honestly if it weren’t for preceptor du, the misunderstanding olympics would be in season 12 with two spin-offs 😭whatever else at least she is real and cuts through the bs, I can’t hate her
LCC... Can't we just get rid of her? Please. For me, she's currently the most awful FL in a long time. Not only…
I have to agree. Love the actress, hate the character. I can’t stand how self absorbed the character of LCC is, she is also a walking contradiction. I’m not crazy about the emporer’s character either but he has reasons that hold a lot more weight than cang cang in the grand scheme of things.
Same I was looking forward to this one too but the writing is very cheap
Exactly — the actor is innocent 👑. The character and the writing? Straight to jail 🤣
We can have beef with the story or roles AND still wholeheartedly support the actors playing them. Both truths can exist — they’re not mutually exclusive. This one wasn’t it for me, but I’ll absolutely keep supporting them both and watch all their future projects.
Thank you for giving a clear cut clarification. From what l have seen he is the one who is criticized most of…
Burning Flames is definitely borderline for me. It’s packed with happy moments and even closes with a brief glimmer of hope, but her dying at the wedding after everything they survived still makes the ENDing lean sad, imo.
And honestly, because the drama spent so long in life-or-death mode — constant ‘is he dying, is she dying, is someone killing someone’ tension — I really needed the payoff to match the journey. After all that stress and sacrifice, even a simple moment showing that they BOTH finally got to enjoy the peace they fought so long and hard for would’ve been enough.
Instead, he’s left to carry everything alone for a while, and while the final scene hints at a reunion, it’s more suggestion than closure. For me, when the stakes are that high for that long, the emotional landing really matters. It doesn’t have to be big — it just needs to honor all the buildup we sat through. Burning Flames came very close, but fell short with her sudden, early death.
I’m not afraid of sad endings at all. A sad ending doesn’t automatically make an entire production sad or bad, and it doesn’t erase the happy parts. For me it’s always about how the closure and satisfaction land for the leads.
And with the one you mentioned, it really just depends on how the angst pays off. But based solely on your description, it sounds pretty happy to me.
I can't wait to see the emperor fighting!!! Happy that he let CangCang go. Will she finally have a taste of real…
i think in the book this is the turning point for them but they still distrust each other all along the way. in the drama hard to say - but she is not the brightest (immature)
