one of a kind
i've never seen a drama that made me feel so warm and happy inside as much as homcha has. i keep on waiting impatiently for the weekend to come just to get my weekly dose of serotonin from shikhye and the people from gongjin . i'm not one to commit and watch on-going dramas but this was definitely an exception.it's so beautifully written. im so emotionally attached to this show .. don't think i'll ever move on from this as it definitely moved up to my #1 fav drama.. despite not having much angst (which i love) but still .. so good . it's definitely worth the watch

strong start but ended with disappointment
absolutely fell in love with this drama within the first 5 seconds and it was just the intro. it was well written and was structured out so good (for ep 1-12) . though i still couldnt care less about the second leads. everything in this drama was perfect in the first few episodes ,definitely. the little things they put in the background for the scenes and all. Crush had its wits and funny moments but the drama lost its pace and consistence after ep12 .the male lead turned into literally just any other male leads in cdramas and lost his charm and became annoying and possessive BOO .i was genuinely obsessed with this show because of ep1-12 . after that most of the scenes felt like fillers and it is super skippable. the chemistry between the main leads (WuYan & NianQin) were undeniable , i love their relationship seeing how gentle they are with each other (and clingy). but after they brokeup NianQin especially, felt like a whole different person :/ didn't really like him for a few episodes but it got bearable. tbh i was expecting something angsty for their relationship to have me crying my eyeballs out but they didnt manage to do that. it started off sooo good and could've end up being in my top 5 dramas but,, yea
in the end there were a few unresolved matters still though i think they had the time to resolve it but just couldnt bother to do so, so that's a minus point for the plot . overall it was worth the watch but its just a little rushed at the end

super wholesome
the only bad thing about this show is that it only has 10 episodes ! and a total of 20-25minutes per episode come on!!!! i need moreeeee!! binge watched this show and semi-regretting it but at the same time its fine because i can just rewatch it any time.storyline is interesting, wholesome and entertaining. might've had a few unnecessary scenes but it doesn't matter bc its a good show! the bond kotaro had with his neighbours (especially karino) at shimizu apartment was sooo cute they care about him so much. it would've been great if they made this series longer and showed us how kotaro lived until he became "stronger" or once he is grown. it really made me sad how kotaro is only 5 years old but is being forced to be mature & not be seen as weak , he couldn't even act like kids around his age because of the pressure of wanting to grow stronger and independent so he could be loved by his parents. i really wished they resolved this matter and had someone tell kotaro how its okay to act like a 5 year old and just be a child who wants to be spoiled , would've been great if the show ended with that.
overall worth the watch and i think everyone should watch this show

deserved the hype
i loved it !! i held back from watching it for sooo so long because of all the good reviews and high ratings (+ people BEGGING for season two) and NOW I GET IT . i get WHY.i barely pay attention to the OSTs and MLSHR took a turn for me on that. im obsessed now lol.
the casts are amazing and i loveeed the first few episodes (also the others just those more) because the chemistry between them all was so lovely. wish Haesu stayed a noble throughout the show but :/ circumstances.
i love angst i love it i love everything idk i cant think i just love everything about this show EXCEPT wang so / 4th Prince / Gwangjong's last line. WHY. WHY DID IT GAVE US HOPE FOR SEASON 2 . now ill be in the stage of grief and beg for season 2 from the producers.

i get the hype
i was engaged w the story & did not realize i was well over 30 episodes in .. would say the pacing of it is good & something is always going on but im entertained! show's not perfect but it is a good one worth watching. the story actually revolves around the main lead without the screen time going too much @ other characters. love love that. the back n forth between both of them could be a little frustrating thoughWas this review helpful to you?
the second leads on the other hand had evident character growth which the main leads lack and they were so fun to watch i literally skip most of the parts of an episode and watch only their part

somehow its so good,,???
did not expect to be this engaged with SOKP because i dropped it after ep5, but i decided to give it another chance and im so glad i did!!i thought the politics and revenge plot would be boring but it was well written & well paced through out that i actually sat through the whole show without skipping a lot of scenes (even with the supporting roles and im the type to skip a lot of sr scenes when i watch other dramas if they're not interesting). this show rly takes the cake for me bc i cried during the partings and felt frustrated when theres a conflict LOL. i was really genuinely locked in with the show. though the romance between MLs started late it was not a problem at all since the plot was good enough to keep me going. high budget, good castings & great plot from start to end. ZLH's character could be overbearing but its really just how he was build for it lolz everyone in the show had interesting characters

devastating
this movie was not easy to watch , i had to pause in between scenes to stop myself from going manic. what makes me sick is that this movie is based off true events and right now i am still trying to process everything from finishing the movie less than 5 minutes ago. it was heartwrenching throughout the whole movie. it is definitely not for just anyone to watch as you need to be mentally prepared as the events are triggering.im still super pissed at the verdict given to the culprit because what the fuck ?? only 12 years after damaging a kid physically AND mentally that is costing her her whole life yet he only gets... 12 years... of prison.. because he was intoxicated with alcohol... when he did it.. hearing the words he said during the trial made me sick to my stomach, knowing he did what he did but still claiming to be innocent MY GOD ! headache just thinking about it..

the right amount of everything
no doubt for this show's originality. it was really refreshing to watch something about politics and not in the way most k-dramas portray it (which is usually super dark) honestly thought i wouldnt even sit past 5 episodes but i just kept on watching and suddenly im on the last episode ? where did the time go..i've seen nana in kill it & that was super great btw which is how i found out abt this show and the poster alone looks interesting to me. i've never bothered to read the synopsis and honestly thought this show was about boxing or something LOL it was funny when i realized its about politics. this show had a consistent pace to the end which most dramas fail to have and its one of the reasons why i even managed to watch it till the end WITHOUT skipping scenes too !! probably the only entertaining drama about politics that isnt boring.
I don’t have much to say regarding this drama because it was genuinely a good one to me and I loved every bits and wits of it. Its definitely worth the watch and I would recommend this to people.

manwol is the only interesting character
The cast list & the guest roles were amazing and acting was superb & despite being one of the most hyped dramas it was so underwhelming , i couldn't bother to watch the side stories (which takes up a lot of the episodes) lol i skipped almost all of it bc it was super unnecessary. ghost hunting and all sheesh who's got the time!romance between manwol & chansung were Meh , manwol's characteristics was too strong for her to end up with chansung tbh they could've made him someone of her level (of characteristics) because he was so boring to me .. romance seems forced tbh don't really feel it there.
how they resolved manwol's grudge? what the hell was that 3 minutes of standing & looking at eachother? she held on to that grudge for 1300 years just for it to end like that? lol they could've at LEAST made it more dramatic. even the side characters have longer stories on how they resolve their grudges!
overall the best part of this drama is manwol (and her outfits) & the most interesting part is her past with cheongmyung & yeonu . i would've definitely rated this drama higher if they focused more on that. lee dohyun did an amazing job in portraying his character despite being a rookie at that time omg loved it so much. their story was the only one that made me cry lol
i contemplated a lot on whether to drop this drama or not but i didn't because i wanted to see how it all ends but ???? so so underwhelming. could've been so much better

almost perfect
promising start! up til ep20 it was reaaaally really good. but after that it was just like fillers which was very disappointing to me!! this drama was supposed to take the cake for the year 2024 but the last few eps were just disappointing :( cgi was not overbearing, chemistry between all characters were great ! but the plot just went down the drain towards the end ;-; really could have been better.Was this review helpful to you?
cute & sweet light watch
i anticipated this show a lot & i had a high expectation for it but after watching it til the end i must say that i am A Bit disappointed. overall it is fun to watch but it felt bland like something was lacking.. chemistry between the leads were okay. which is wild bc xu ruohan and zhang linghe has amazing chemistry with most of their co-stars! story flow was good okayokay. xifan’s character couldve been written with more depth than just her ex-boyfriend at the start, and there werent exactly a heart fluttering moment before they got together bc it felt like there was a barrier between them until xifan one day just goes ykw hell yea lets get together. that might’ve been why i felt like their chemistry was okay-ish.. i wanted to see more of Her without a man in sight. feel like thats one of the off points ..and he suye was written out to be the perfect boyfriend like yea sure. overall it isss good and worth the watch but wish i couldve gotten more character depth. not a stressful drama to watch and v lighthearted if youre into only fluff drama!Was this review helpful to you?

expectations met!
started watching this with high expectations and im glad that my expectations were met. an intriguing show from start to finish with amazing chemistry between all casts!! no unnecessary characters, i love how everyone did something for the plot lol. the story felt well written and the pacing of it was genuinely good, i did not feel bored at all throughout watching all 34 episodes & that is rare since this show does involve court politics but it was rly well balanced i didnt feel like it was unnecessary or draggy. dont think i even need to talk about dou zhao & song mo because everyone knows how good they were portrayed and the romance between them. really worth the watch! its actually main character centric LOL not like some shows that puts the second leads out too muchWas this review helpful to you?

the plot felt like there's nothing going on,, predictable & focus on their work for half of the ep type of show. could have been better! was more interested in the 2nd cp but they did not have much progress throughout the whole show. i guess my expectations were too high. overall just a so-so drama, if you don't watch it, it's not like you're missing out on anythingWas this review helpful to you?
