im not going to lie but i was gonna watch it with disappointment cuz it looked kinda bad and boring but after watching it, it kinda surprised me cuz it relates to real life events about reality with a touch of fantasy magic soo you could give it a try i would say 8/10 overall
i think it's just me, but i found the part where the older NHD not remembering about the trip more heartbreaking than the breakup scene, it's a hit of reality which i am not ready to face yet :")
It's the perfect ending. Maybe the breakup part was abrupt but other than that, hee do pretty much achieved her…
i think it kind of opens up to one of the main themes of the drama and honestly that part broke me the most than the part about their breakup, cuz it expresses that no matter how good things last, it cannot stay as forever and we have to move on from it whether its good or bad, it reflects the reality of life which i am so not ready to face :)
I really don't understand how you guys would think that the ending is inappropriate. imo it is the most appropriate ending it could have like they were a passing phase in each other's lives like all first loves, just because they didn't end up together doesn't mean that it was a sad or bad ending, it was the best ending it could have for all first loves and past relationships, they didn't end on bad terms but instead gave each other closure in the very end. People might say that they are meant to be, yes i agree with that, they are meant to be cuz if they never had each other they wouldn't have gotten to where they are now without each other's comfort for each other, they needed each other at the time they needed someone the most. Moreover, i wouldn't think that they would have worked it out either way, cuz no matter what circumstances it all would have ended up in this stage, lets say that BYJ didn't work as a reporter, then they wouldn't have much interactions with each other since he was in the sports section and they wouldn't have ran into each other after not seeing for a few months; let's go further back and say that the IMF crisis didn't happen so BYJ wouldn't even be working as a reporter, then they wouldn't have met at all. Either way, he still had to go to US and report about the 9/11 crisis, face all those traumas that he had, which made their relationship grow apart because NHD doesn't want him to keep letting her down anymore, it was emotionally exhausting so they would have to break up. ANDDDD another thing, it was stated at the near beginning that Kim Min Chae was not the daughter of BYJ, cuz in one ep she looked at a picture of BYJ and said " ahhh so this is BYJ" , meaning that she never knew who he was. And it never really hinted that they got married in the future, but it did drop a lot of hints that he wasn't the husband tho. Another point, who she married was never really the main point of the story anyways so there wasn't a need to reveal him, but what i think that this story would do better is that they could show maybe a bit about JWS, MJW, KYR and BYJ's lives, not much but maybe a hint.
Why im stating this is cuz im a kid in my teenage years and while watching this drama it gave me a bare image of what my life would reveal in the future so i don't really need those fantasies that i usually watch for, i want to relate and feel what the characters experience, the feeling of growth, pain and love. Like the drama 1988, i wanna have the same feelings as what im feeling in this drama
This drama is only a solid 8 for me, i cant say its the best mostly due to Kang Daniel's acting like ill gave him the benefit of doubt in the beginning but after the drama progressed it just led to a tad of disappointment. I understand that he is a rookie so i didn't expect a lot but the scene with kim tak and his father could've easily been one of the most emotional scenes in the drama but i think he failed to execute and portray his emotions well so it was just a bygone scene to me. I really hope he would improve his acting in the next drama. Other actors were great especially park yoo na, she didn't have much scenes but her scenes were always filled with emotions and even if she didn't say a word i would still the emotions vibrating off of her!! The plot of friendship and loyalty was portrayed really well in this drama i would think that this is more focused on that genre than romance, but at the same time there was a good balance between the crimes and romance like one didn't overpower the other, moreover, we could see the general refreshing friendship in the friend group which was really nice!! If you are doubting whether to watch it, i would definitely recommend you so, good luck!
It's really worth it if you like Mindhunter vibe. For bad reviews on MDL, I guess they don't know it's based on…
do you know whether these cases actually happened in somewhere or was it made to be more unrealistic cuz i swear when i watched the interviews in the drama i got headaches cuz it was so horrendous
i need some help cuz i like thrillers like i love happiness and flower of evil, but somehow i didn't like juvenile justice like i dropped it so does anybody think this would be a drama for me? or would you recommend me watching it
the plot started out great, it was interesting and every time they woke up it was different and new which made it super addicting and binge-worthy, there were also a lot of shocking moments which implemented the theme of a thriller. But in the second half, when they found out who were the assailants, it got a tad boring and dragged on, cuz imo i think that this story could've been more than a girl being sexually harassed on the bus that led to a tragic accident. Even as they dragged it on, they left out a number of loopholes, for example, why did the female lead go into the loop? when the driver's daughter was harassed she could've easily gotten off the bus at the next bus stop, but instead doesn't, why is that? Why do the police keep on targeting the 2 leads, but at the end they easily let them go? Why does the male lead's condition keep getting worse but the female lead doesn't? And call me pessimistic, but i thought that the ending was too happy for me, like there's no way all of this happened and everything just went back into place for the better :/ I would've rated this a 10/10 but after the second part it leaves me at 7.5/10
I am up to ep 12, during ep 5 I would think that this drama would make a lot more sense a little while later and it did cuz it got me at the edge of my seat but until i got ep 10 it started to get a bit boring, everything started not to make sense again and dragged for a bit, i loved the characters and friendship in the drama and im also a curious about what's going on with Kyeong Tae and the doe but its just not enough to keep me going and waste another 5 hours on this, some people may find it intriguing but i guess people just have different opinions, updating that im gonna drop this drama and probably not pick it up in the later future
