Although, 7.8 rating may seem unfair. But this drama is barely at 8 level. The main reason is, plot was very predictable. The moment when, it was revealed that, the person who committed suicide, was staged and someone was out to get back at ML, it became obvious who the main culprit was. The person that killed his fiance and staged suicide was easily predictable. Obviously, it was not the original suspect (FL's brother). Because it's common drama plot, the person that seemed obvious to be culprit, is usually not the culprit at all. And, believe it or not, from ep 1, I was skeptical about the character of Yi Kyung. He is a famous actor, but in this drama his role seemed vague. At first, I thought he will be a secretly jealous friend of ML, who wants to make progress in his career, by secretly plotting against ML. But, he turned out to be a good friend. The reason I suspected him was there was no plot around his character. You have hired a famous actor, but his role in drama seemed useless. What? You hired a famous actor like him for comedic relief? or witty remarks? lol. It was obvious he was the main culprit. From ep 2 onwards, I always suspected his character and at the end I was right. Finally, the individual crime cases of this drama were not that entertaining.
Will FL's father ever stop being such a insufferable character? Tbh out of all the negative characters in this show, including all the villains, I hate FL's father the most. And, he is not even a villain smh. In ep 4,after FL got kidnapped, and it was revealed that stepmoter was behind the kidnapping, he said to FL "I will make it up to you". But, did he do anything?NO. He is a spineless coward, who gets manipulated by his brother, mistress and everyone.
I really like FL in this drama. She is the perfect representation of strong and independent woman. I like that she takes no bs from anyone, whether that person is her grandfather, ML or ML' mother(in ep 35). She sticks to her principles and does not come across as selfish or conceited.
I am on ep 31, but bing lan and her mother do not have many scenes. Although they have not bullied FL till now, but Imo they cannot bully Fl, because they are not that brilliant. But they have tried to manipulate ML's mother many times.
At the beginning, when that little kid was emperor and she was ruling the country, she got so easily manipulated by Prince Sui and General Shi. She was the main reason, ML was deployed to border. She believed their lies and thought ML may rebel, and wanted to kill him off by sending him to a losing war. Although drama skipped abruptly, but she and her son got deposed and Ziyu became emperor. And the people she trusted, actually put Ziyu on throne. lol
I am on ep 17, and I am a little confused about FL's background. She got her memory back So, 3 years ago she was a commoner lady who was a leader of an escort agency. Her Grandfather decided to marry her off to Cui family in the capital. But for some reason, she faked being kidnapped by bandits and went to Mount Yang to become a bandit herself? Was she just in love with Ziyu and wanted to be with him, even though he was a bandit? Please someone who read the novel or understands her circumstances can spoil below. Why did she go to Mount Yang and become bandit?

I haven't watched this drama yet. I am on ep 3 now, but if you are looking for historical dramas where leads marry very early like this- Destined (2023) was a good drama that started the same way, where leads accidentally got married and had to adjust with each other, Although there was no amnesia or hidden identity in that drama. Melody of golden age, New Life Begins, Wrong Carriage, Right Groom are some of the others where leads got married early. Blossoms in adversity is also very good, where ML hid his identity at the beginning. Love and redemption and Immortal Samsara had amnesia plot, but these are xianxia.
I want to start this due to good ratings and because of wang churan, but the plot seems somewhat lazy or cliché. From the synopsis summary, it seems- ML finds FL with memory loss, pretends to be her husband (for his own reasons), decides to divorce her in order to protect her or because of his own growing feelings for her, but she still follows him. Eventually he will fall hard for her and decide to be her actual husband. But her memory will come back, and she will feel betrayed and leave him. He will try to redeem himself or protect her or follow her but she will still not take him back. After few eps of groveling by ML, she will eventually realize her love for him and take him back? lol. Please spoil me if its something different from above.
