Let's be real - the drama is good, and the game part madeit more fun. It kinda felt like two shows in one. But…
While you're of course free to think that any three dramas are better than any three others, it virtually never makes sense to compare the ratings of dramas.
Especially "This recent drama with completely different actors and non-identical plot is rated a few decimals higher than the other one I like, so I'll go complain on that one's page." Of course you actually watched this, so it's not like you're just coming here to hate, but I'm sure a lot of people will read your comment like "SOM good, LBL not that much".
A long, long time ago IMDb ratings were pretty accurate as to movie quality, and I suppose for some top (American) TV shows. I'm not sure if Douban ratings were ever accurate, but right now they're absolutely not (heavily affected by shit storms, fan wars, etc). In my few years on MDL, MDL ratings have never been representative of anything.
(I actually snagged Shine On Me before this one, but since then I've been afraid it's too much SML to enjoy. LBL had nothing dangerous/offensive to it. Until I actually watch SOM, I can't say if I agree or disagree with your view.)
P.S.: Before writing this, I was planning to next head to TUS and post a comment like "LBL good, TUS less so".
lmao same. it took me so long to get to 16 because i got spoiled about a scene and i thought it would hurt to…
The angsty stuff wasn't necessary but overall quite tame (and without lasting consequences), and yeah said people were maybe a 1.5/10 or at most 2.5/10 on the drama scale of how bad they could have been. Very mild.
Inspiration for a project bid. The key figure spearheading the project is somebody who has an emotional attachment…
This show made me seriously consider looking for a subtitle plugin that allows putting song lyrics to the top of the screen or changing their color or something.. 😏
They both are architects, he is an established genius, she is aspiring. They meet at a cosplaying mystery VR game…
If you like the SML performance that much I recommend you FF to https://kisskh.at/49871-love-is-sweet , for me the role and acting style are copy-pasted from there. (Especially pay attention to how that SML handles the "playing with his glasses" part, it's A++. I was forced to practice doing that IRL as/after we watched it.)
This actor, Dai Xu, was popular in The Unclouded Soul too, but he doesn't have much screen time or relevance in it.
wow. the rating goes up significantly. when I saved this drama as "plann to watch", the rating was still…
Online ratings (MDL or anywhere else) have no particular relation to how good a show is these days, but:
if you want a sweet fluffy rom-com with barely any angst, and workplace scenes where the leads are indeed workplacing together, while still not-workplacing together as well, this ticks those boxes.
There is a major issue with the drama. The VR game scenes are boring, and I feel sleepy whenever they appear on…
It's really bad writing or translating to call it a "murder mystery". It's more like a social engineering party game, or a political mischief sandbox, or a 1920s multiplayer role playing game, or... ... In any case it's not A) mystery or B) murder.
HE for main couple, but not fleshed out all the way. OE/HE for secondary couple I suppose. uh, some sort of redemption arc for a villain. nobody gets murdered to death.
Maybe you should watch the slightly unhinged "playing with the corpse" subplot. That and one of the FL's…
FL is buried. ML digs her out, takes her away, and essentially treats her like a normal living person for a week. Some of his stronger acting from what I recall.
Maybe you should watch the slightly unhinged "playing with the corpse" subplot. That and one of the FL's action scenes were the only worthwhile parts of whatever happened after the first like 3 eps.
Agree, though I actually thought the architecture work stuff was much more interesting or well done than the usual work plots in let's call it 'business romcoms'

If you like sweet fluffy romcoms you surely won't regret this one afterwards. 😸

Admittedly, this one's got a fair bit too.

If they don't formally get back together, they never were technically broken up.
It's more like having a fight, saying some angry words, and making up later.
While at it, the show of course is not "Historical" either.

(How much screentime, relevance, romance plot, etc, does she have?)
Some of his stronger acting from what I recall.
The phone call a bit before was really well done though.
Not as flirty etc of course, but more of a realistic/natural couple.
