The worst of the worst

Very very disappointing. I waited so long for this with high expectations and this is what I have to watch?

1. The audio sucks. Almost all the dialogues are dubbed. Dubbing is fine, but the dubbing in this drama does not match with the video. In some scenes, the background sounds are leaking which makes the dubbing sound smaller. Very sloppy and messy. Even the music I think is really bad. It does not match with the overall situation.
2. Weak story plot. I’m so confused with this one, as literally nothing happened in the drama. The plot has no depth at all, very surface level, and also no progression. It’s all just a montage of them doing the thing, and then going to school, and then doing it again, and then cook, and then doing it again. Like what the fuck am I watching? There’s no progression at all with their story. They just suddenly fell in love with each other wtf.
3. Weak worldbuilding. This one is just funny for me. Did anyone realize that the art class our MC go to only has 2 students and no teacher? LMAO. I also realized on one scene, it was suppose to be night time, but there are sunlight coming in from the window. ?????? wtf.
4. This drama is filled with NC scenes so you would think that AT LEAST the NC scenes would be good right? Nope. Not even the slightest good. I do have to give it to them because yes their NC scenes are crazier than other korean bl dramas. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s good. The NC scenes look sloppy and messy af. A lot of repeated actions in one scene, where it could just end quick but nope they have to elongate it which makes the scene flop. I also think they put too much of these scenes. They should’ve lessen the NC scenes and make more ‘normal’ romantic scenes so at least the plot have more depth.
5. Can’t even be sad for the MC when the mom’s health got worse. Yes duh because we don’t even get to see the mom. How am I suppose to feel sad when there’s nothing to be sad of?

Dare I say it, there is nothing to like from this drama✋😬🤚. Oh maybe there is one thing. The actors are very good-looking and their acting is not the best, but not that bad. So, this one is a whooping 1/10 for me. Sorry.

Confusing

I think it has a potential. But failed. Miserably. The plot was actually pretty interesting— It’s about a guy that suddenly blipped into another world and couldn’t stay far from the ML or he’ll disappear. But here’s the thing. They made it so goddamn complicated and so most of the time I was like this ‘😦’. Have no idea what they’re talking about and that’s bad because what they’re explaining is the most important part of the plot.

Personally, I think many elements still need improvements. The only thing I like about this drama is the visual. And yes maybe the main plot as well. Oh and I do like the plottwist. But again, I don’t really get the explanation behind it

Good, not bad

Wow, just wow. This drama is pretty good, surprisingly. I have no expectations initially but the first episode got me all hooked and binge-watching all the way until the last episode.

Everything is great. The costume, acting, characters. Oh my god, the characters was chef’s kiss🤌💗, ESPECIALLY the villains. I love the emperor’s character so much even if he’s annoying. But the character development at the end was really nice.

Now here’s the issues I have with the drama. First, no CGI powers. I mean, it’s not that bad I guess but it looks so weird and awkward. Second, the ending. I actually love the initial parts of the ending where the former empress came by the dungeon and told the reason why she did what she did. But then it took a 180 after she died to resurrect the evil demon. Huh? I was like whaaat? Why tho? That kinda ruined the ending for me. They could’ve done the ending with some fights or something like that with the main villain (the former empress) and ended it like that. But they really have to resurrect the evil demon. It was so unnecessary and lame. Third, the ending, again. If I understand correctly, the ML’s dad turns out to be the evil demon, right? I thought at the end where the evil demon is resurrected, he is going to have a dad-son moment with ML, which I think would be a very interesting plot scene. But no. I think they just forgot about that element tbh.

Alright that’s it. It’s getting way too long now. Do watch this drama because it’s really not that bad.

Hidden gem

I have one word for this drama. Wow. It’s beautiful. The main characters have a really good chemistry with each other. I really enjoy watching this drama because of them. Plot wise, yes, I do admit it still is lacking at some point. There are plotholes, but it doesn’t take away the fun (at least for me). The acting is chefs kiss, especially the crying scenes. It’s so good that I literally hug my phone because I feel super bad for him😭.

Thank god I came across this hidden gem. I almost missed it if I hadn’t decide to scroll down Gaga**Olala two days ago.

Surprisingly really good

It’s surprisingly really fun. Although most of the time I felt like there are scenes that were deleted (probably not but it felt like it), I still very much enjoyed the drama.

It’s definitely on the lighter side, but I’m still eating it up because I love light dramas tbh. CGI is.. meh. I get it tho. It’s a 2022 drama so very understandable. The only problem I have with it is the fact that there is supposed to be a season 2 but it’s been 3 years and we haven’t got a release date or any confirmation on the season 2. This drama (the season 1) ended suuuper abruptly with no conclusion nor any closure for the audience. Thanks for that, producers🥰🙏.

If the season 2 is finally getting released, do let me know cuz I’m DYING to know what will happened to them.

CRAZY GOOD

WOW WOW WOW. This drama is a straight 10/10 for me, no questions asked. Even I myself am confused because I think the story plot is kinda basic and used in so many other dramas. BUT! I cried 3 times in this drama just from pure happiness.

Let me tell you why I am so in love with this drama.
1. The MLs are not what I expected. Most cdramas I have watched have MLs with characters and personality like Xiao Yeting— the cold, not-close-to-women guy that has a dark past. Oh and don’t forget the obsessive tendencies. But here, the ML is actually the ever happy, cute, and softy guy that chases the FL and always do be flirting with her. Don’t get me wrong. I ACTUALLY LOVE XIAO MURAN, and tbh I love him more than Xiao Yeting. That guy is the cutest cutie-patootie ever and I really ship him with FL.
2. I love everyone’s acting here.
3. The CGI, the set, the hanfus are all really nice too. The make-up is also not too much, looks natural on all of them. You can really tell they put so much effort on making this drama and the attention to detail is also chefs kiss.
4. THE SONG. holy crap it was so good. I never really pay attention to OSTs before but this time, damn. Really hits different.
5. The revenge plot is also not that heavy tbh. And I love that more?? I’m a slow person and I am here just for fun and games, and the romance too☺️. So, only showing a small plot of the involvement of the crown prince or the imperial palace in this story is a nice touch (FOR ME).

I feel like theres more things that I love about this drama but I’m too lazy to list everything out because it would be way too much. If you wanna know, go and watch the drama now and you will see.

Worth watching

Alright, let me tell you what I think. I love the Act 1 of this drama. You can actually see how she works in order to go up the ranks and also see how cunning she is. I love that. However, throughout Act 2 and Act 3, it suddenly got so boring and not fun anymore, especially towards the ending. I think this was when they tap into the storyline of ML and FL being siblings. When FL figure out that ML is her sibling that she’s been trying to find, since then on it was… agonizing to watch.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s still fun. But not as much as the beginning where she was this fearless and cunning woman.

Another thing that kinda confuses me is the ML. He said that he likes her, not in a brotherly way (indicating that he likes LIKES her as a woman). But.. why? And when did that happen? They never really explain it to us and I don’t think I realize the point in the story when he falls for her. Is it a childhood crush thing? Or literally he fell for her the first time that he met her?

Oh and I’ve seen a lot of people don’t like the guys in this drama because they’re half bald. Tbh I didn’t really care about that. I even think the ML and emperor looks very good half bald ;).

Nonetheless this drama is still worth watching.

I LOVE IT!

Wow, wow, wow. Standing ovation from me for this drama👏👏👏.

Everything is great. Great writing, great plot, great characters, great actors and actresses. I cried. I literally cried at the end. Let me tell you, I was fooled. The drama has 20 episodes, but technically it ends at episode 18. After watching episode 18, I thought to myself, “Oh! That’s okay. There’s 2 episodes left. Maybe they got reborned or something like that and the ending will be happy🥰.” I was wrong:). The 2 last episodes are only the flashback story of when they first met.

Damn, it’s good

First of all, I really REALLY enjoy watching this drama. It’s a shame that it felt a little short to me (there’s not much on the plot nor conflict. Everything feels shallow and surface-level), but even then I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Character-wise, I do agree with another mydramalist reviewer who said that Jaeyeon’s character doesn’t seem to really like Doha even until the end. It did give me that energy. Maybe it’s one of those ‘he fell first and fell harder’ type thing, but I don’t know.. I feel like there’s not really a scene where you can REALLY clearly see Jaeyeon’s feelings or when he truly fell for Doha the first time. Because for me, this scene exist with Doha. You can tell the differentiation in his attitude when he realizes he likes Jaeyeon. But to be honest I didn’t realize this whole Jaeyeon thing at first and literally the whole time kicking my feet and giggling like an idiot until I saw that review.

However, even with all this, this is still by far the best drama I’ve watched this week. It really surpasses my expectations (I have none at first) even with only 6 episodes, rapid plot, and a re-edited version of the shorts drama. Slayyy. Great job

Interesting premise, but executed poorly

The first half of the drama was nice and interesting. However, the plot kinda fell apart after that. It made me bored and I kept skipping some scenes because I think ‘it’s not that important’. And sure enough, it’s not.

What really irks me is the character of Shizuma. I can’t relate with him nor do I understand his actions. Why would he suddenly fall for Minato? Very hard too, at that. The bet was also resolved very quickly, which I think kinda takes away the plot, because from then on it’s like they keep beating around the bush (bahasa indonesianya bertele-bertele). The drama also focused on the background story of Minato, without giving us any on Shizuma’s. That’s why, for me, it felt very one-sided. And I do not like that very much.

The only good thing from this drama is the visuals— the actors and cinematography, and music too, yes. Anyway, I don’t hate this drama, but also don’t like it, soooo…..

I kinda recommend you watching this drama just to get the feel of it. You might like it, who knows.

Gak expect bakal bagus wkwk

Jujur gue shock. Dulu waktu masih ongoing gue sempet baca sinopsisnya dan gak tertarik samsek soalnya ngerasa aneh aja gitu yakan tentang penguin. Tapi dua hari yang lalu lewat di gagao*lala terus jadi kepo. Akhirnya gue nonton dan gILA GILA GILA BAGUS?

Gak expect bakal bagus ceritanya. Gue kira bakal ngawur ngidul gitu (ini juga karena agak trauma ya sama drama bl thai lain). Tapi ceritanya oke banget dan seru. Memang tetep ada beberapa part yang menurut gue rada boring dan rasanya kayak gak terlalu penting. Tapi overall ceritanya pas dan seruuu. Tonton guys kalo belom.

Really good, surprisingly

This drama is really fun, no kidding. As a person that enjoys non-heavy conflicts, this drama is so fitting for me. I love how cutesy and bubbly the vibe is, and I also love how the conflict is to the point and clear. Although yes, I do agree with everyone else’s reviews here about how low and inaccurate the MC is acting once he knew the truth. They just brush it off very lightly as if it’s nothing. But I think even if they do want to do more, they can’t, and that’s because of the duration of the drama. I’m just gonna think that the MC is so so very in love with the ML that he can’t hate him for long🤷‍♀️.

Aside from that, I really have no other problems. The drama is surprisingly entertaining and fun to watch. Everyone’s acting, especially the ML, is so good it seems like they are friends in real life. Thank God I found this drama because I almost overlooked it. I was so happy when I finished watching, because holy crap, for some reason it was so hard for me to find a good, completed BL drama these days.

So yeah. Go watch it if you haven’t.

Kurang

Menurut gue drama ini ada potensinya. Tapi jadi kurang karena jumlah couple nya yang jujur terlalu banyak. Gila woi ada 4 couples di drama ini. Masih mending kalo jumlah episodenya banyak ya biar semua cerita couples ter explore dengan baik. Tapi ini cuma ada 6 episode, dan maksa ada 4 macem cerita. Hasilnya apa? Semua ceritanya jadi ‘kurang’. Kurang ter-explore, kurang in-depth, kurang seru, kurang konflik, dll. Menurut gue ceritanya si couple Aratamisu & si couple OSIS gak usah ada aja soalnya jujur cerita mereka yg paling gak jelas, apalagi yg Aratamisu. Gak ada hubungannya samsek sama main charactersnya.

Karakter villain juga hampir non-existent, meskipun yaa gue ngerti sih kenapa. Karena emang drama ini bukan fokus kesana, tapi lebih fokus ke arah self-developmentnya MC. Ada sih karakter villainnya, which is si cowok yang interested sama MC (maap gue lupa namanya🙏). Tapi dia cuma muncul bentaran doang di awal dan bahkan gak terlalu nge-stir up si main couple, dan tiba-tiba karakternya ilang gitu aja gak ada disebut lagi. Aneh kan. Mending karakter dia diilangin aja sekalian weh biar bener-bener fokus ke MC & ML.

SERU

Yang suka cowok clingy silahkan nonton ini, karena gila weh ML nya clingy banget sampe yang kesannya childish gitu. Tapi apa ya, seneng aja gue waktu nontonin ML yg apa-apa jealous sampe sulking atau marah wkwkwk dan apa-apa pelukan mulu.

Gue liat-liat banyak yang kurang srek sm plot ceritanya. Yaaa emang agak aneh sih. Technically age gap nya gedeee banget ya soalnya 69 thn sama 23 thn. Tapi to be honest gue gak terlalu peduli karena anyway ceritanya tetep bagus menurut gue. Gue seneng bgt sama MC (si kakek) karna meskipun dia di badan cucu nya sendiri, dia ttp berasa tua bgt. Suka nasehatin lah, banyak ngomong lah, takutan lah, tapi in a way yang gak annoying sama sekali (at least buat gue pribadi ya).

Si main couple lucu banget, chemistry dapet. Second couple juga gemes banget, chemistry juga dapet. Bahkan villain di drama ini juga asik bgt dan gue seneng dia ada character developmentnya. Act 3 cukup buat gue nangis.. yak.. 3 kali. Makasih banget loh ya🙂🙏.

Satu hal yang agak bikin gue terganggu (tapi sedikit aja) itu actingnya sih. Kadang keliatan berlebihan? Dan keliatan kyk lagi bersandiwara banget gitu. Contohnya waktu mereka lg marahan. Gak tau ya apa karena bahasanya atau raut wajahnya juga yang menurut gue keliatan lg akting banget. Kesannya dibuat-buat gitu lah. Tapi yaa sebenernya gak terlalu bermasalah juga sih karena cuma dikit aja. Abis itu biasanya gue langsung ketarik balik ke dramanya.

Seru tapi kurang

Awalnya emang seru sih. Konsepnya lumayan fresh dan menarik makanya gue lanjut nonton terus. Actingnya juga bagus. Lucu banget pls chemistry couplenya, apalagi si main couple. Bickering 24/7🤩 dan yang gue suka dari bickering nya ini tuh gak kerasa kyk boongan. Cinematography nya juga oke, make-up oke, color palette juga soft unyu gitu, costume juga pas dan cocok. Ganteng-ganteng pula aktor-aktornya (ini sih yg gue suka lol).

Nah tapi tetep ada beberapa kekurangan yg gue notice di drama ini. Misalnya kyk si villain. Menurut gue character villain ini si Cheoyong. Cheoyeon? Choyeong? Ya itu lah ya. Si villain ini gak ada background story nya, tiba-tiba muncul aja gitu. Gak ada in-depth background nya, gak ada motive pula buat jadi villain. Apa dia jahat ke MC gara-gara jealous? Gak dijelasin weh. Cuma diceritain kalo dia mau ngebahayain Geumbok biar Bihyung bisa hidup sendiri tanpa harus bergantung sm masternya (ini yg gue ngerti tp yak cmiiw). Tapi kenapa anjir? Nah itu gak dijelasin dan gak ada background story nya. Menurut gue klo misalnya begini mending gak usah ada aja karakter villain sekalian. Jadi murni fokus ke plot romance nya aja.

Gue juga kurang srek sama cerita second couplenya. Menurut gue kurang in-depth juga dan karena hal ini jadi bikin mereka serasa gak ada chemistry. Gue nonton mereka muka gue flat kyk gini 🫥 WKWK. Gak ada perasaan apa-apa samsek.

Yah mungkin segitu aja dari gue. Tapi don’t get me wrong. Drama ini tetep seru untuk ditonton jadi silahkan yang penasaran tonton aja.
