Goddess Ran Zhu reminds me more of Wu Huan from ALP. In ALP, Yuemi (Xingyue) have feelings for Tianqi (Jingyuan) but he is inlove with her bff and also his friend Shanggu (another goddess). Yuemi saved Tianqi from Wu Huan and Yuemi died protecting Tianqi. Tianqi found out late that he has feelings for Yuemi, so he roamed around and search for her pieces. It seems to me that this Ran Zhu is more than what meets the eyes, the village is strange enough and she must know about the gods, I see it's possible she is after their powers and not love.
