Hot/Unpopular take: While the whole scene where Lady Ruyang got knocked down was extremely satisfying, the fact that the Emperor/Empress/Consort came there just for that was cringe to me 😬.
On another note, I'm so happy they discuss about their misunderstandings/anger rather than just sulking and dragging it out.
Also, it's pretty clear why LBY doesn't support the crown prince. He may be a good person but he's not fit to take up the responsibility that comes with it.
I was rewatching the Ep30 lunch/dinner scene in the palace. When consort Yue entered, the Emperor met her eyes as if to allow her to go berserk on lady Ruyang. Is it just me thinking this?
Yes, I'm going back to rewatch and get the details as I was blown away by her delivery.Just checking in with anyone.....First…
Yea, like i said, in JOL the crown prince is not the 1st born but he's still 'addressed' as 1st prince and rest of them are addressed in the order of their birth.

I don't know which drama (maybe JOL), but if I remember correctly, the crowned prince is always addressed as the 1st Prince and the rest as per birth. Or maybe it differs per empire/dynasty?
The pace and story growth in this drama is so organic. Kudos to everyone involved. I don't want to jinx it but so far all the episodes have been great.
The actress is really good :) I find her scenes funnier after the second aunt left because the two of them together…
Now that you've mentioned the second aunt, I think you're right. I think I like the grandma because, despite her nature, she's not scheming, it's just not in her nature (at least I think). All the scheming was initiated by the second aunt.
Maybe not a popular opinion, but I just love the grandma scenes. There's something about her acting that seems exaggerated but at the same time looks apt given her character. Maybe it's just good acting.
Regretting my decision of starting this early when part 2 is gonna be delayed omg why did I even do this can't…
Is there any official info that it will be delayed? So far i haven't seen any official post on S2 release date. Considering how they've shown E28 preview, I think it won't be too far.
guys, how’s the series compared to WHRTW? I liked the latter so I was wondering if it’s something similar
WHRTW was half-cooked IMO, maybe partly due to the issues the producer/director (or maybe the writer?) had. The only reason I finished it was because of the leads, any other leads and I would have dropped it.
LLTG IMO is so so much better, both in terms of story, acting and pace. It may be slow for some ppl but I like this kind of drama where things are fleshed out.
To everyone criticizing the mother, I think it's a bit harsh. She has a very good reason why she (and the dad) said those things in front of the Emperor, which she explains later to CSS. The words were very harsh but she felt it was still better than letting her marry LBY. Unlike today where society is gearing more towards nuclear family and people live separately in case of disagreement, it's not the same during this period. CSS's mom knew there's a very high chance of CSS not having a good life in LBY's complicated family, her problem is not with LFY himself.
One area where I do fault the mom is the comparison she does with Yangyang. But in this particular case, I think what she did was out of love, however harsh it may look.
What I felt the director wanted to portray in the last few scenes of Ep20: Though love is beautiful, in the face of tragedy and grief, it suddenly takes a back-seat. You can't compare your love to someone else's pain, especially the pain of that level where the whole family is massacred. It's not about whether you are right or wrong, no amount of reasoning will help, you would just look insensitive. For this reason, I think the FL will break the engagement.
