wait so I’m curious I read a lot of comments about his prison sentence, most of them being that he did not went…
The necklace was a cross that represented Juyeong's religious trauma, each time he "sinned" by being with Dohoe he took it out, so thowing it out was him accepting that he did not need that religious validation and that he wasn't sinning he was just happy with Dohoe. I thought he was 6 months in probation and that if he got caught he would go to jail for 2 years but maybe I got it wrong my memory is a little blurry ahdhsad
*Before you read the rest of this I assure you in no way am I faulting Dohoe for his response to years of abuse…
I think the main point of this drama was to explore responses to trauma, that's why the first 2 episodes focus on showing us the past, so we can understand the characters future actions. Healing isn't pretty, sometimes after heavy trauma you just don't know how to love, accept love or love yourself, both Dohoe and Juyeong have different responses to the abuse they endured, Dohoe doesn't comunicate in a mature way because he endured the same abuse for years, including his childhood and teenage years, I guess maturing fast to not break under his dad's abuse and growing up in a household where comunicating wasn't safe makes him run away from confrontation and healthy communication, cause its a concept that hasn't existed for him. Juyeong is more upfront and loud about wanting communication but I think he lacks the self love to put his foot down and set some boundaries, he wants to comunicate but he doesn't like confrontation with Dohoe, so he just gives in. The show focuses more on the growth they must have before entering and committing to a relationship, as if they don't have it, it's just not gonna work
Representation is very important and I wish they had found an actual transgender actor to play that character.…
I agree but I'm also glad they didn't expose a trans woman to the amount of hate she would have gotten, its such a big show and korea isn't much accepting towards transgender people
"i couldn't tell you he meant more to me than you" "I'm always second but you'll always be the one i love most" the average lesbian "friendship" I'm in shambles
