Title Mental Coach Jegal Spoiler
The loveline was slowly but surely built up. Their relationship is not ideal for everyone but I find it beautiful…
yup, that's right!!! after rewatching, i realize their relationship is beautiful. it tells many things and their relationship is unusual in kdrama story and it makes me like it even more (maybe i'm wrong, but i never watch this kind of relationship before). maybe only people who can relate to their character or story, who can understand their relationship...

The people confused about the love line should rewatch it tbh.. the clues were very obvious from the start, it…
exactly! some people argued that the writer put romance to attract viewers. no, i don't think so... they started filming from february to september. this drama was aired on september. so, the romance between the leads was all planned from the start.
and people who said the romance was unnecessary and the love paring was wrong, i can't agree with this too. if we pay close attention to the title of the episode, dialogue, and scene, the romance has a point in the story and plays important role in the characters' development. it's like two broken people heal each other pain, then love starts growing between them. they need each other. so, for me it is understandable why gaeul-gil ends up together. it's just their relationship is depicted reallyyy subtle in the drama.

Title Mental Coach Jegal Spoiler
After a depressing start with mentality slump in the athletes , the drama picked up pace and ended with a crescendo.…
Agree!!
Jung woo said, ā€œi’m back as a mental coach. I heal their pain and become healed myself through them.ā€
This drama is about healing each other pain. And if i can add one more, it’s also about love.
Ep.8: ā€œcan hurt caused by people healed by people?ā€ -> Yes, it can. But how? -> Ep.9: ā€œthe best medicine for your slumpā€ = LOVE!
There are many ways to heal yourself. And love is one of the way (and it’s the most powerful imo). This is also highlighted in Jegal’s Special Talk: ā€œwhat saved me is love, not anger.ā€
He saved her from slump, she healed his heart too in the progress. Jegal can’t cry because he is lack of self love, but he is loved by someone. if we are loved by someone, we know that we are not alone and it makes us realize that ourselves is precious. And self love will grow inside you.
I think one of points the writer wants to convey: ā€œLove is a cure. Love can heal your wounded heart. Loves makes you brave. Love gives you power and will to liveā€ etc. These are all depicted in the dialogue and scene.

Overall it’s a good and meaningfull story :) (even better than my fave’s drama aired this year)

I’m here for it too, I think it’s sweet. I feel the same about Dr. Park, but based off episode 15’s preview…
For me, jegal-park is big no! Her father is the worst problem here. I don't think it's gonna happen.

For gaeul, I think her feeling is true. Some of her dialogue are really hit right to the point, so i think it's not a transference. But jegal's action to her, so far, is really so vague. Sometimes I think he has feeling for gaeul, but I'm not sure. Maybe they'll end up together after jegal realizes his feeling for gaeul or both of them won't end up together and this will be gaeul's first heartbreak. She said that she never cried bcs of love before, right? But that's ok bcs she already awares it's just onesided love in ep12. And she's still bright and happy gaeul.

yeah, he's not neutral from the beginning. I forgot that his counter-transference began even before he counselled gaeul.

Me too! Every human being has the right to be loved whether the biased conservatives like it or not. We ain't…
I still do not understand why many people against the idea of possible romance relationship between gaeul-jegal. Yes, it's unethical, it's true. But rather than judging their relationship, can't we just focus on the background why gaeul develops such a feeling towards him?
She is different compare to other people in the same age. She has no friend and never be in any relationship. She was abused. Even her family can't understand her feeling. No one beside her. She's struggling alone. Then, jegal came to rescue her when she was in the lowest phase/state of life. Yes, it's unethical, but I kinda understand why she falls in love with him. He is the one who fully understands her feeling and gives support to what she really wants.
We still don't know whether her feeling is a true love or just a transference just like jegal said. Even gaeul herself admits that her feeling maybe wrong. But, she said that she just wants to live her life in the moment and her feeling toward jegal is precious to her. She even doesn't force jegal to accept her feeling. Gaeul now is different from gaeul we used to know in the early eps. She's happier and more cheerful now. For me, that's what matter the most.

The drama is good and from the start I can sense a build up of a relationship between Jegal and Gaeul. Watch with…
Exactly! This drama is not on my watch list, so I watch it without expecting anything and just go with the flowšŸ™‚
Just like what you said, I hope people who watch this drama can move along with the character and the story.
Many people think the romance is unnecessary, but I don't think so. I think the writer wants to bring up the concept of 'transference and counter-transference' between counselor and client, because it really does happen in real life. So, I'm ok the writer put this idea into the story. Now I'm curious whether jegal's feeling toward gaeul is just a counter-transference or there's true love hiding behind it. Well, after all,
"Love is the most difficult and confusing feeling," right?

how old are Jegal, Cha Ga Eul and Lee Moo Tae?
Eps. 1, gaeul is 25yo (maybe this is korean age, so international age she's 24yo)
Eps. 3, jegal born in 1986 (based on his cv), so he's 36 yo
