Title Blossoms in Adversity Spoiler
loved this drama but the emperor was a certified HATER. He couldn't stand anyone around him being happy, I was so happy when he finally kicked the bucket. A Jian is such a good choice for Emperor, I know my girl Hua Zhi and her family will be in good hands 😌

Are you kidding. Dal Shik and Cinderella were the best part in this drama. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z73rWUhfE8
...there's a lot that I want to say about your comment , but I feel like we should just agree to disagree on this.

As a black person, I just didn't enjoy the way they portrayed the character. It felt like they were just stereotyping black people and putting them under 1 label. Also, the way they portrayed black hairstyles as dirty with flies around his dreads, as you mentioned, did not sit right with me. I think making the personality of a korean character revolve around being a jamaicaboo was uncalled for, and again I didn't like the way they showed black culture as dirty. Of course, I understand that Koreans, in general, are ignorant of race issues but I'm just voicing my displeasure that they decided to use this (offensive) trope. If you see no problem with it then it's fine, we all have different opinions, and its crazy to expect everyone to share an opinion. But I still think that I and other people who dislike the character's concept have the right to speak up when we feel that something is wrong.

I liked the romance between him and Geum Bi just not the concept they chose for his character. The dreads and the constant reggae themes needed to go.
On Backstreet Rookie Aug 27, 2020
the whole drama is not horrible but I would just throw the whole dal shik character and the reggae theme away. I can't believe they thought this was a good idea in 2020, not only was it not funny but just the way they portrayed him is just horrible. You could tell they were running out of ideas.

Title A Piece of Your Mind Spoiler
this was a very nice drama, I really enjoyed it, if only it wasn't cut short :(
I wish there were more happy scenes near the end, I feel like they've been suffering this whole time, maybe just a glimpse into their lives a few years later, seeing them smiling and happy would've been beautiful. I know there's a short part in the after credits but i wanted some more :(
On What Happens to My Family? Mar 29, 2020
I'm pausing the drama and saying this now because I feel like I'll snap if I don't, yeong sol is the sorriest excuse for a daughter I've ever seen. Shes materialistic, barely cares about her child that she left in the Philippines, and also expects everyone to do things for her. When she first showed up I thought that she would at least feel a bit ashamed of her actions, instead, it looked like she was only mad that she got caught and had to pay that money back. Her husband and mother are so nice yet she leeches off of them, the poor husband is a saint for not divorcing her on the spot. What really pissed me tf off is how the second there was money she was like "buy me this, this, and this, why? because I deserve it." And when they said no for obvious reasons she started yelling and screaming. The second she put that list down in front of kang shim I wanted to slap her through the screen. How can someone be that shameless??? Wasn't it a few episodes ago when her husband had to sell their whole HOUSE to make up for her being BORED in another country. Her character as a whole just rubs me the wrong way, and to think I was even hoping for her to be kang shim's friend.

Title The Tale of Nokdu Spoiler
Some people comment that we cannot rewrite history. Yool Mu was a horrible king in history. Besides, it was predicted…
I've been in dramaland for so long, I've forgotten that in real life things aren't always tied up with a satin bow. After talking to a lot of people about the ending I've realized exactly what you've said , that we can't rewrite history. Honesty NokDu and DongJu deserve to live in peace after all they went through (and I'm even happier that NokDu gets to spend time with his mother). I never wanted him to be king anyways, it just felt like he would hate everything about that job. The part about bearing the consequences of their choices is interesting though, I never thought of it that way and that makes the ending fit more.

Title The Tale of Nokdu Spoiler
am I the only one worried that yool mu is king, he's gonna be a horrible king. Why is the ending so calm... I expected if not nok du then someone else would be introduced as the kind great new king but not the guy that we've just spent at least 20 episodes fighting against... it just feels like an uneasy ending.

Title SKY Castle Spoiler
I don't usually watch dramas like this (more of a romance person) I was really apprehensive of this since how good could it actually be. This really opened my eyes though, every single part of this drama is life changing. I can almost feel the pain of the characters to the point of where after I finished the drama I felt like I lost something. At the same time, I was anxious for it to end before it could get worse or that something bad would happen. It was a truly stressful experience but a story that needed to be told. As for the characters, they really couldn't have chosen any better actors to portray it. Each of the couple's stories was interesting and had a touch of comedy and light to them (except for Yeh Suh's family and Woo Joo's near the end) and that was very helpful when things got worse. I really enjoyed how each family grew because of each other, in the twins family the mother was able to make the father into something less terrifying and more of a father. (honestly, if I had seen the before and after I would've been shocked) And in Soo Han's home, the mother learned to go her own way and not just follow the others. ( I actually, feel like this was the family with the least to change, they already were mostly perfect and happy, Jin Jin was just swayed by the dream of Soo Han going to medical school for a bit but she put her son first as soon as she realized it was hurting him.) And in the final family it wasn't the mother who changed but the son, he became more curious and was able to truly question if he needed to do as much which helped him decide to find himself.

As for the other characters I feel like the crush storyline between Yeh Suh and Woo Joo was kind of hard to watch, it was just poking the wasp's nest. Even harder to watch was Hye Na's story, I wanted to dislike her but she had gone through so much I just couldn't, I just ended up feeling worse for her when she died. But unlike Hye Na, Yeh Suh had everything handed to her that's why I completely hated her since she acted like a bitch for most of the drama. Even her voice when she had a little hissy fit annoyed me to no end I just wanted to give her a good smack. Ye Bin made me dislike her when she wanted her mom to acknowledge her stealing but she showed so many other sides of her that made me end up liking her the most out of all the children. She wasn't afraid to speak up and criticize everyone which must be it.

Now to talk about the Coach

She honestly terrified me I felt like I didn't even know what she was plotting, I went back and forth thinking that maybe she was a good person but when her story unfolded I was just perplexed.

Overall it was a beautiful drama. I recommend it even if this genre isn't your thing.

all those episodes and they still don't get a baby in the end, I really would've liked to have them have their wish fulfilled :(
