Excellent friends to lovers dramas from the King themself <3 <3 <3
P.s. I'll tell you what straight friends to lovers we NEED to see more of. Binary trans friend and cis friend falling in love e.g. similar to Elle and Tao in Heartstopper. That would be cute.
I just finished this show a second ago and I have mixed reviews. I'll just start with the positives first.
- The filming and the editing was very well done. I also liked the use of interviews to ask the contestants how they were feeling. - I really felt a good amount of suspense just before they chose who to go to paradise. - The hosts were my fav thing about it! Watching their reactions was sooo funny.
Now for the negatives. - I understand they are on a limited time schedule but it really shocks me how little screen time was given to YeaWon. She was my favourite contestant out of all of them. For the little screen time she got, she seemed the most real and genuine out of all of them. It's really sad that she was sidelined for some drama between the other contestants. - Some of this was obviously set up at times. I'm not saying it's scripted but it seemed obvious that some of them were given instructions. I find it hard to believe the two new girls were conveniently both into Se-hoon right off the bat just when he needed it. Or the new guy being into Jia. I don't buy it. - Jin Taek was so obviously not into Soyeon . I get this is a dating show and they can go for different people but this was different. He lied to her and was making her think she was special and then he just flirted with Ji yeon out of nowhere. Jia also kept sending mixed signals to 3 guys at once and acting like she was into them when she wasn't. The hand holding of all the couples at the end felt forced and non of the relationships felt genuine to me. They looked bored half the time and like they were just there for fame. - I felt that Hyunseung realistically should have chosen Yeawon to go to paradise but I just have this suspicion that he was told to choose Jia to keep the drama of the show going. They had chemistry. - Last thing to add...all of them were either models or had high status careers. What about people who work in retail, cafes, fast food, etc? What about people who are single and don't have that unrealistic perfect shiny lifestyle? Or the perfect body to pose in? I rolled my eyes every time someone said they were a model because OF COURSE they were.
@lyssy Same thing happened to me, the entire series was blocked for my region and it did not work with VPN so…
Thank you for the link. It's strange why this is happening to our regions since it's such a well-known story and should be available for all of us to enjoy.
