After watching the trailer of ep 19 where Fu YunXi pick up his bride at the Zhuang's house, I'm convinced it's just an act 😌

Tbh Mr. He's proposal--although fairytale-like and sweet to most of girls--sounds naive to me... Well of course I like to be a 'goddess', just like most of girls...

But after thinking twice, what would happen if Mr. He met another 'goddess' in his later life? Would he abandon HanYan? And it has possibility too! Why? 'Cuz He never experienced that, currently he's just a poor scholar who didn't come from a noble lineage. However... Later when he rose to power and acquired wealth? Could he guarantee himself wouldn't thirsty for more and discarded HanYan for a wealthier option? (Remember, the Zhuang father???)

Whereas Fu YunXi is proposing a more solid plan that's applicable to every phase of their marriage life (that is if they ever got married, and yes they will!). The mission of 'conquering the world' could be about defeating the evil powers... or something as simple as being nice to others. It made their marriage life more meaningful and they can always be a 'power couple'. 💕🔥

I bet it all started with their father. The two-faced Zhuang father has been seemingly treats everyone in his family as a minion that can easily be turned against each other to reap benefits. Be it his wife... Concubine... Or even kids.

Seriously, if Zhuang father truly a good husband, he'd have an open communication with all of them and stop the pressure that makes the Concubine always feels not enough to settle in this family. To raise the family attention to herself, she then resort to whatever evil means that endanger the primary wife and half-daughter...

Also, another reason the Concubine acted like that because the Zhuang father brought in a primary wife (Ms. Ruan) after she gave birth to two of his daughters.

Again, I don't know what made Zhuang father take in a new wife; is it purely because of (1) love and admiration, (2) greediness for a prominent family backup, or (3) grudges and conspiracy to torture Ms. Ruan in-line with the demise of Ruan's family.

I have a feeling the death by poison of her late half sister isn't just as simple as what Fu said, "She saved me by drinking poison sent by my opponent".
