By the way, am I the only one who’s super annoyed by the servant of ML ans his big, meddlesome mouth that often…
Yeees! I agree LOL, another character I wished someone told to stfu. I wish this servant would be taught a lesson too and get character development...

Well, 'cuz Chunli (the Li family servant) behaves a lot better. I think it's because the Chai family lacks of attention in servants manner(?)

But talking about that tho, we could see that servants manner reflect their master. Chai family is arrogant, so are its servants. Li family, although poor, know what's right and wrong and never treat other people wrong too (unless instigated first haha).

Yup, somehow this story has triggered a lot of viewers here which I am surprise as these arcs are not new and…
I think it's the matchmakers hired by the Chai mother when she's still clueless (remember, the fortune teller told her that Chai An suffered from 'loneliness' fate and there's actually a girl that could change it but she and Chai An failed to marry -- i.e. Li Sanniang)...

Knowing that, the Chai mother felt remorse and decided to propose to the Li family again. Even though that fortune teller was actually hired by Chai An to deceive his mother hehe! I bet the Chai mother wouldn't know about his trick, ever if not for Liu Bainiang.

Li Sanniang made a deal with Liu Bainiang to do 'something' (that's not yet explained in the story, or would not be explained idk) to give hints to the Chai mother that the fortune teller is a scammer. Hence, the confrontation and little boy under the fortune teller's table revealed.

Old Mrs. Du who also travelled in Liu's ship was released to the Li family after the deal, so to not fall into Chai An's hand (although we still don't know what's the purpose of Chai An trying to pick Old Mrs. Du from the ship harbor, as per episode 8).

Li Sanniang herself hated it when Chai An seemingly controlled who she's going to marry (by tricking Mr. Du and such). Even though she liked Chai An, she disliked that particular attitude of him. (Well, girls, that boy is too controlling, right? I get that he's an alpha, but sometimes he's over-domineering. Girl had opinion too but he wouldn't hear it and discuss it with her!) Hence, she made that deal with Liu Bainiang.

As of far: Chai An's plan to marry Li Sanniang, for the second time, is failed LOL :v

I had so much expectations about this drama, but I found it really boring, hardly could finish ep 1, does it get…
Well, the pace... is crazy LOL. It's like a transverse wave with many ups and downs. They almost fooled me with one sister got married. I was like, "Already? Finally!" But then the story went down really fast, it shocked me!

Now it's going up again ^.^...

I am loving this drama soo far like although some scenes piss me off but this drama is soo entertaining and good.…
Anyway, kudos for this drama team for pointing out human nature...
- That people have both 'bad' and 'good' sides, and that we should strive for the good ones.
- That some people deny their feeling for something they hold important (e.g. prioritizing birth family rather than the man they wanted to marry if their family aren't suitable/not from the same class).
- Some people have high integrity, some other might not.
- Some abuses born from insecurities and the feeling of instability (e.g. the abusive wife), even though still, it's not a legitimate reason.
- And many more, and more to come throughout the 36 episode ^v^

I recommend this drama.

Li mother pissed me :(

Idk if that's because I've issues with my own mom parenting style, but in general, Li mother acts like she's the child, not the mother. When she's scammed for that useless zither, I was like: "Why would she buy that in the first place!!!" They're poor and run out of money, buying a zither no matter how 'valuable' it is shouldn't be an option.

However I salute the Li sisters for not being angry with their mom. And focus on finding the resolution -- even though that resolution would COMPLICATE their future relationship with the Chai family :")

In conclusion, if Chai An wasn't denying his true feeling for Li Sanniang from the start, all of these wouldn't happen and he would not see the Li family as a rival. (And also I hated it when he wasn't speaking honest with his mom, why wouldn't he speak up that he's the one who scammed the Li family for that zither and he knew that they knew, that's why the superstition scamming happened).

However, the Chai mother is indeed a materialistic woman. Somehow, people need to tell her to change.

Title The Double Spoiler
XH's sidekicks did not died in the novel...don't know why they have to kill them off in the drama.
No >.< Lu Ji and Wen Ji both died in the battle, nothing to do with Tong'er or FL's brother...

What I meant was... Wen Ji got chemistry with Situ Jiuyue, I thought they'd end up together...

As for Lu Ji, he got chemistry with Tong'er. While Tong'er died in the earlier episode, I guess it's ok for Lu Ji to die to, you know just to "embrace each other in heaven" or smth.

But alas, we got both of em die in the last ep :")

Ikr! The noisy sidekick (Wen Ji if I'm not mistaken) had this chemistry with Situ Jiuyue! Bruh I thought they'd end up with each other!

But I guess it's okay for Lu Ji to die, because earlier he got this chemistry with Tong'er (the dead maid).

Also they casted this drama very well. If the actors were not good, we could not get all those close ups to their…
To me, everyone in this drama is exceptionally "eye candy" 😆

Tbh Shen Yurong is a good-looking man, LOL. Wanning is very beautiful too. Alas they're villains 😅 Also, King Cheng actually got this good boy vibe.

Jiang Li and her maid, Tong'er, the first time I saw them I was breathless, they gave off this kind of "fairy-like" beauty. They're also somewhat identical to each other.

The other Jiang sisters were pretty too. Even Zhou Yanbang is handsome 😆

The trio that's always with Xue Fangfei, the emperor, and even the painter that's the stepmother's ex... All are unique.

You know what, King Cheng's subordinate (Chu Lan if I'm not mistaken) was a fine man too, like his face is what shown in ancient Chinese paintings about "a handsome man".

And of course don't forget the beauty of Xue Fangfei and Duke Su!

They really "hand-picked" the casts, I think.

I've watched some that are of high quality (at least in its respective era - just because of the development of lenses and cameras technology used that make the atmosphere differ). Well, other than Siege in Fog:

1. The King's Woman (upsetting storyline with lots of intrigue (and I don't know, a little mysoginist? >.<) but good picturization)
2. Romance of Three Kingdoms (so loooong)
3. The Story of Minglan (definitely on many people' list!)
4. Goodbye My Princess
5. Song of Youth
6. One and Only (Wang Xingyue starred in it)
7. Royal Feast (Wu starred in it with Xu Kai)
8. Romance Like The Galaxy Pt. 1 & 2
9. Story of Kunning Palace (Wang Xingyue starred in it)
10. A Familiar Stranger (Short! But firm!)
11. Butterflied Lover (Also short! But firm!)
12. Love Story of Court Enemies (One of the rare with Qing as background)
13. Luoyang
14. A League of Noblemen (Not romance but... friendship? Loyalty?)
15. Unchained Love (Dylan Wang's)
16. Stand by Me (This gives off The Double's vibe!!! Although willful but not that smart female lead LOL)
17. The Autumn Ballad (Also pretty much The Double's vibes with both smart ML and FL).
18. The Sword and The Brocade
19. New Life Begins (Heyyy, could we ever skip this? Cute but meaningful, not 'dumb-cute' because the characters develop really well. Starred by Bai Jingting and Tian)
20. Destined (This one was also starred by Bai Jingting! This is New Life Begins but next, next level!!!)

To the 19th century+ era:
21. My Roommate is A Detective
22. The Little Nyonya (China, but not in 'China'. How come?! Find out! >v<)

I think there's more but I'll write 'em later when I remember LOL
Thanks for reading my list everybadeh~

Title My Dearest Spoiler
I didn't understand what happened with YeonJun in this episode. First he tells his wife that he will be faithful…
I think this part shows a paradox of a loyal subject and his opportunist king. Yeon Jun, because of his loyalty wanted to 'show the King the right way to govern the country'. But look! The king is unworthy of his loyalty! The king wanted him to go to the Qing as an envoy, whereas we all know that going to the Qing = equals death. Not to mention that by going there Yeon Jun would probably leave his 'relatives' behind (including his newly married wife, Eun Ae).

Just because Yeon Jun's loyal, the King wanted to sacrifice him?!

In this episode, I could feel Jang Hyun's sentiment more (remember he doesn't want to be 'that loyal' to the King).

The King was such a selfish and opportunist leader. First of all, his fright of going out of the fortress made the intruders attack Ganghwa and cause more deaths. And then when the Crown Prince went to Simyang, well I know that the King requested everyone to protect him, but to me, this part is somewhat... cold. Like... is this how a father is supposed to do? For example, walking back to the palace coldly -- ugh.

In reality, though, this King (Injo) would kill his own son (Crown Prince Sohyeon) after going back from Simyang, accusing him of being a pro-Qing. And then killed his daughter-in-law too...

Back to the scene: I think sooner or later Yeon Jun will realize that Jang Hyun's attitude toward not being loyal to the King is the right attitude -- seeing that he's now being jailed!

Title My Dearest Spoiler
I'm sorry, I have not yet watch the recent episode but is the drama took different route from the real life people?Because:King…
Okay, guys, I like history SO SO SO MUCH that it's the reason why I watched My Dearest. However, I am absolutely not an expert lol, but I love researching historical stuff, and here's my finding...

So, there's a record that King Hyojong adopted his really, really distant relative name Princess Uisun... who is the daughter of his fourth cousin twice removed name Lee Gye-Yun. Meanwhile, the biological mother of Princess Uisun is a lady from the Munhwa YOO clan (whose full name is unknown).

Familiar right???

Lee Gye-Yun ~~ Lee Jang Hyun
A lady from the Munhwa Yoo clan ~~ Yoo Gil Chae

You know like... from this record... I wanna trust my instinct that JH and GC will get married someday (writer-nim pls pls make it happen) and then they're gonna have a daughter--who is being 'mistreated' by the pioneer of the royal family (a.k.a. King Hyojong's direct families).

Because if you've ever read historical records, you'll know that a 'king' won't send his biological daughter/s to a faraway land for a diplomatic marriage. But the foreign upper-hand country would still prefer you to send a highly noble lady. So what are you gonna do? You're gonna make someone who has royal blood but is not strong/influential enough to incite protests to go there, to hold the marriage for you.

And here, in this case, it was Princess Uisun (**a possible JH and GC future child).

The record showed that Lee Gye-Yun, sometime in the 1650s when he was sent as an envoy to the Qing, met his daughter and felt miserable over her fate. And then pleaded with Hyojong to send her daughter back with him.

Poor Lee Gye-Yun ~~ I-I mean *ahem* JH. He and his family were being mistreated, when he was a royal blood himself.

SO, A QUESTION WAITING TO BE ANSWERED: IS JH A ROYAL TOO? If so, then what happened to him? Being a merchant... Go to the Neunggun-ri... Joining the war etc?
If he's a royal, why the King and Crown Prince didn't recognize him (in the previous episodes in the fortress)?
I'm really curious about the scenes that usually appear in JH's dream as a little kid, kneeling outside under the rain while calling "Abeoji (Dad)! Dad!"

Wdyt guys?
