I thought the middle of season 1 was somwhat fillerish. But it was worth going through to get to the end of the…
Yeah, you do get important lore in Part 1 but there's plenty of filler to skip/speed through. They do recap some of the important lore/wipe the slate with the female lead in Part 2, so you might manage to squeak by. Up to you, really.
I am reading some comments and seems like I belong in the minority.I enjoy 2nd season a lot more than the 1st.…
You're right, main leads have way more chemistry this season. Something about this new Naksu's acting isn't as stilted and awkward, which really helps give their scenes some life. Not to say that this season doesn't have its draggy moments and lots of filler, but there are some perks to sticking around for Season 2.
How can you take their love so lightly that Jang Uk could fall for any girl? Uk's transforms into a "hard-to-approach"…
I honestly prefer this FL to the last one, who I found very stiff at times. I just think they've made the character so convoluted and overly complex that it's impossible to have any continuity. Like in trying to make her the coolest ever in typical drama fashion they've somehow watered her down into... nothing? Meanwhile the script is so superficial that the actresses have had very little to work with. I was so excited for Naksu/Mu Deok's character arc and I don't think they've done it justice. Same for Uk.
I agree, everything feels a bit lacklustre at the moment Can it get better? I guess we'll have to see.
He is a fool who thinks he is in control of something
Oh, it makes sense. There's a lot of control and abuse hidden behind the veiled facade of a mother's love that I find quite disturbing. It's more about control and power for her, not genuine love and concern. They make her out to be obsessed with her eldest daughter, but when you think of the power that said daughter has, there are very sinister implications behind all of her actions.

I think there's a difference between 'will fall for any random girl' and 'is slowly recognizing his lost love.' I will say that I don't think the writing so far has made much of a distinction between the two. I'm reading the English subtitles, so there may be more character in the Korean script, but when she was talking to Yul and says "your favourite snack is fancy" and he looks like he's seen a ghost, I was like "WTF?!" Is that really enough to almost recognize a person in another person's body? I don't know.
I also think there's a lot of people here bending over backwards to suspend disbelief, because I don't think the plot's done enough to warrant all the romance between the leads, but again, we're in Dramaland, so I guess this is the way things are.
In terms of ladies falling at the drop of a hat for the male lead, I fully agree with you there. Our FL has no idea who she is and is begin sequestered by her own family. I'm not sure if you can call what she feels love or amnesia mixed with intense Stockholm Syndrome, but I wouldn't expect a drama to miss an opportunity to romanticize a traumatic, toxic situation so again, no surprises there.
I'm just not sure why exactly you had higher hopes, given how they had to rush the cliffhanger ending of season 1 after wasting so much time on silly romance side-stories. I'm just here to see how it ends, at this point. I don't believe I'll be fully satisfied with the journey, but I'm open to surprises.
I don't know, wouldn't it be more meaningful if Uk connects all the dots and find out himself? There are many…
Yeah. I can't say I loved the whole gaslight-y "you can't be her, you're just a disappointment" stuff he yelled at her, and how she backed down so quickly. I understand that it's not out of character for him, but I think it's also too convenient for there to have not been any internal struggle in her...
Its gonna be fun rewatching if its a happy ending and u know u can just enjoy the angstttt
Towards the end of Season 1, a Romeo and Juliet-style ending (ie where both leads died) was the only conclusion I could see that made sense. I still feel the same way at this point. I long for happiness, but getting there would cheapen the world they've built up to this point. How is Naksu supposed to survive with (possibly) both her own powers AND Bu-Yeon's in one body? How will Uk live once people find out the truth about his birth? Plus the ice stone needs to be destroyed for the kingdom to have any peace and for Uk's father's death to have not been in vain, which probably means Uk won't survive. There's too much riding against them...
I sort of agree, but then I don't think anyone in Daeho could imagine that Naksu would come back in the same body,…
I don't think it's an overreaction! It's so weird to me that only the audience is tripped out by this whole scenario. Like if I was them I'd be hella suspicious. There's magic and sorcery everywhere you look! Plus the Jin family is the reason they're all in this mess in the first place.
