Yay it's also on Viu! Itching to watch something similar after The Auditors. Thanks to whoever recommended this! I didn't know Jang Na Ra was in this, I love her acting!
This was surprisingly so good and binge-worthy. 10/10. Never thought an auditing kdrama could be so exciting. Shin Cha Il's character is amazing, they chose the perfect actor for his role.
For a prosecutor with a top grade, and someone who claims that she loves watching investigative American TV, FL's character is portrayed as quite stupid - entering the crime scene and touching the corpse without protective gloves and shoe covers, even turning over a corpse with FL's bare fingers and then falling down to sit on the carpet where the corpse is at because FL was taken aback by seeing a corpse which FL just rolled over.
All this whilst knowing that NFS is still on the crime scene collecting evidence.
It makes me doubt that she has ever seen an investigative American TV or was taught on crime scene contamination in all her years of study as a prosecutor, yet she received a top grade and was eligible for direct entry to be a judge.
Thankfully, she chose to be a prosecutor and not a judge. Otherwise, I wonder how she will judge well in court proceedings without even understanding how crime investigation works.
I cannot stand this kind of character writing (it is also an insult to the actress having to play this) and so I am dropping this.
This isn't just lazy writing, but also thoughtless writing.
Actually all throughout I was about to give the show a 10, because this was surprisingly enjoyable and a nice binge. Really really good for a short series!
Spoilers ahead...
Then a pet peeve came at episode 31. It was like 5 mins to 5pm when the wall would close. I wished they had shown her sprinting with all her might (fueled by adrenaline at never seeing her soulmate ever again if she missed that 5pm mark), but instead she was portrayed lightly jogging sometimes pausing in her tracks lost with direction (all these shown in slow-mo), & the whole time I was like "for goodness sake, run as fast as you can don't jog, the clock is ticking!". I understand though that maybe since this is a short series with a low budget, the camera might not be good enough to capture fast scenes and so they told the actress to jog slowly.
It's a small thing really, but it also really really spoiled the vibe for me and a -1 star just couldn't appease my pet peeve, so a harsh -3 star just for this scene. 7/10
A part I find interesting is how the ML is totally unbothered by FL's room filled with posters of another man (who happens to look like ML, but still...another man haha). Nothing wrong with that though, just interesting to see.
does her parents finally believe her later on that the 50-year-old is truly their daughter? I'm just at episode 1 & it kind of frustrates me that they treat her like a criminal when she's at her wits end, and also that when she returned to her 20s self she just kept her mouth shut & didn't assure them that the 50-year-old was truly her. I don't think I can hold on to this angst if it continues like this for more than a few episodes.
