So far, I am not loving this. Tired of dorky characters who don't act their age in Kdra,as I hope it gets better…
I don't know if you have ever been to Korea, but it's actually quite normal here even in real life. Even my coworker who is 40 yo acts sometimes like a 20 yo. And my classmates in uni were in their 20's, but acted sometimes like middle school or high school students. So I don't find her character very childish coz I think she is not that old in the drama. Maybe just 30?
Many people here don't seem to understand why the ML is not leaving the shithole. I've only watched 4 episodes so far, but let me explain a bit why I think he is staying there:
1. In Seoul usually you need 5,000 (or even much more) dollars only for the deposit. So it is very realistic situation for many and I, in fact, am in the same situation. I'm living in a very old and small studio room that even has mold and my neighbor is a crazy woman who never seems to sleep and laughs very loudly in the middle of the night. (but I think she is not dangerous) Gosiwons don't require such a deposit. The ML is living in a gosiwon. And he is trying to save for the deposit, that's why he chose the cheapest gosiwon.
2. He may have paid the whole fee for 6 months (or how long he planned to stay there) at once and will not get his money back. (I cannot remember the details if this was explained in the drama though)
3. As we can already see he is also having mental problems from the beginning. He has a trauma from the army time and his mental issues may also prevent him from trying to find a better gosiwon.
4. He may not have much time to look for a better place to stay as he is in a tough situation with his job as well. And in Korea usually, people work a lot overtime. We also saw from the drama that they had after-work get-togethers, even he was unable to meet his GF during the week.
5. He wants to be a horror/crime writer so even though he is creeped out by the place, he could also somehow feel inspired by it for his novel.
Just finished ep 05. So our main lead got 1,800 dollars in his bank account but can't afford to leave that creepy-ass…
You may not understand how renting a place in Seoul works. You need 5,000 (or even much more) dollars only for the deposit. So it is very realistic situation for many and I in fact am in the same situation. Living in kind of countryside, because I cannot afford to rent a place in Seoul. Gosiwons don't require such a deposit. The ML is living in a gosiwon.
I think at this point we can all already be sure that the "oh so powerful" landlord is the cheap one, the baseball player is the bad one and our goofy police officer is the good one. :)
Most likely not. It's proven that reincarnations have the same face w/ Mira + Detective Guy.One possibility is…
Yeah maybe you are right. I just shipped CM with MW so much more than with CS. Hate to see my ship sail away. Hahaha... But either way I hope we could see more of CM.
I still think CS is the reincarnation of CM. I wish he would be and I wish there would have been some misunderstanding between them and he was not actually bad.
I fell in love with Park Jin Young already. How come he is so good at acting even he is an idol.? Wow...I mean compared to many other idols he doesn't just feel like an idol acting, but rather like a real actor.
This drama definitely is not for everyone. I find it pretty amusing and enjoyable. The story line and the settings seem pretty nice. The acting is a bit poor and the background music choices are kind of weird. But something still keeps me watching it, so it's not that bad. The male lead seems pretty naive, but I like it how he doesn't seem like every other male lead. However, the female lead is such an asshole! If I were her boss, I would have fired her million times already. She is so damn rude that it annoys me. Well I guess that just means the actress is playing her role well? Hahah.
