let me propose the most opposite view, i quite enjoy this drama, but for me Xu kai is the weak link acting wise or maybe its just how his character is written, i can never tell. His facial expression is that of a tsundere, theres only two modes "stern face/angry or slightly grinning" but the thing is his character is not a tsundere, he outwardly shows his concern and care for the FL.
Having said all that, i don't care. why would you need top notch acting in a light fluffy rom-com. Im enjoying it as it is, if there was better acting maybe i wouldn't enjoy it as much.

I wouldn't call the FL a blockhead but she is childish and kinda goofy. I think she is adorable the way she is written.

re the biting, everyone with whatsoever personality they have should react the same way when someone forcibly pins your arm against the wall. Most women are taught to kick the assailant in the nuts even.

3rdly, and this is my gripe. I hate it when people complain about character growth. Why is everyone expected to grow? most dramas occur in a one or two year time frame, some even just in a month or two. If everyone keeps "growing" by the time people reach 30, they would be levitating and have visible halos.

furthermore, if the FL is "smart, assertive, or whatever" then it takes away what the writers are trying to convey. Just imagine what if Mr bean was "smart, asservtive etc" no one would watch it.

lastly i do acknowledge that its always the viewers prerogative/preference on what to watch and what to expect from it so your rant is justified in that respect.

yeah but its theirs to sell. we don't really have any right to object if that is what the authors want, mind you we are just speculating here as they may have plot twists along the way

its not unfair to the author as they paid for it. if anything im pretty sure the author would rather they buy it and change certain aspects than they buy a different drama

imagine if they made this exact drama but did not buy the rights to the webtoon, the author will probably sue them saying they plagiarized and made it hetero to avoid paying royalties.

Since they own the rights unless stipulated otherwise, they can change the story however they want.
