Actually, the lead for this drama is only Oizumi Yo. They stated only as 主演 (Starring) which means the lead…
Right, i should've phrase my sentences better. The ones i mentioned as meticulous are the first submitters. Few submitters i know are really good in handling those starring-related information. But then there are some people who somehow want to push their faves as main roles as i said before & unfortunately MDL staffs who approved the changes are not familiar with those starring concept in J-dramas hence there are a lot of inconsistencies. When we tried to correct the information based on the official announcement, it got rejected. But yeah, my previous reply refers to the information in this page. The lead of this drama is only Oizumi Yo, so some of my points still stand to some extent.

Sorry to butt in suddenly... you might be right about the main role concept that story revolves around that character, but then it could cause different interpretations from the watchers too. People may perceive things differently. So, for J-dramas I think it's best if we just refer to the official announcement. I think J-dramas have been very clear & definite about this starring concept, if it's 主演 then it's just a single lead actor. Also sorry if it sounds rude but no matter how you rant about it, you won't find the actor/actress get nominated/awarded as a lead if it they aren't stated as the 主演. In the official actor/actress profiles too, they also won't consider themselves as the lead if the project doesn't officially mention them as the lead.
And sorry I have a bit rant from my end too because something like this has happened quite often here. I know the people who usually submit the upcoming J-dramas/movies here in MDL, and I know they are very meticulous to give the correct information especially about the casting & that starring-stuff. Melyana has explained all about that in the previous reply. But some people just don't (or won't) bother to try to understand the correct information from the officials and just want to push their faves as the main role because they think their faves' screentime equals to the lead's screentime or because whatever other reasons. And then they blame MDL because of it, then one-sidedly change the casting structure that actually has been arranged based on the official announcement. And then when the awarding season comes, their faves eventually get nominated/awarded as supporting roles not as leads, then they will blame MDL again for providing wrong information -_- So, yeah, whose fault is it for not following the official information from the beginning? In the end, the official information is what matters in J-dramas/movies. J-dramas/movies have their own concept of this starring roles, ofc it's different from C/K-dramas or other countries. Please try to understand and follow the official information. Sorry for the long rants, no offense to anyone but I hope people won't blame MDL or the submitter who already trying to provide the correct casting information based on the official announcement.
Anyone else feel like the editing of Meguru's parents' plot in episode 4 was a bit weird? Like Meguru's parents…
Yeah, I found it was a bit weird too when Meguru used her own phone to send the voice mail. I think they missed those details... But it's also possible that maybe she was able to charge her phone for the second day of the camp but she ignored her parents' messages & her parents didn't try to call her again bc they were waiting for her to call first... (I just make this explanation to convince me lol)
I love seeing the Fujiwara clan itself and I am curious how they will depict the clan in full power when Michinaga…
I also saw some tweets circulating curiosity about how Matsushita Kouhei's character will be brought to this. If I'm not mistaken, it is briefly explained that his character will give influences to Mahiro about Chinese writing/literature & they'll have a 'close relationship'. He is also an original character that didn't exist in history so it's still somewhat mysterious. It is said that their encounter will happen in Echizen, it was not long before she started to write Genji right? Will they make Matsushita's character a kind of inspiration(?) for her too...? What do you think?
Hi. I watched it with jpsub only. The fansubber (@mikilove13fs on twitter) just released the engsub for episode 1 few days ago, i think it still take a while for the next release. You can follow her on twitter to get the update :)
What about female centered Taiga? Who do you think would be possible as a lead in the future after Murasaki Shikibu?
Thank you for replying my comment. I'm still new in watching Taiga & I don't know much about Japanese historical figures. But hopefully they'll make more female centered Taiga in the future, as NHK also seems bringing more male MCs in Asadora lately.
Haven't read the manga but i have feeling that this story will bring lots of tears in the end but nevermind cause yuruyuru and ichika are so cute together so now i just want to enjoy & cherish their moments while keep believing that they'll end up happily in the end somehow.
Fujiwara Sakura is super cute. She's so captivating 😍
Episode 9 was sooo weird & lack in research. How come a big sports management didn't even have a doctor or nutritionist in case they have to investigate about doping case on their athletes??? There's no way Shinmachi who has no medical education background can pull off the investigation about doping substances all by himself. And that was just done by listing supplement ingredients without lab examination.
Also, Aso is a world-class athlete, it doesn't make senses he was just convicted immediately by local enforcers without any defense. And the way that Shinmachi JUST FOUND if athletes can offer an appeal to counter the conviction, like, they as a SPORTS MANAGEMENT didn't even know that athletes have a right to do that?!
I get that the drama wants to highlight Shinmachi's persistence and Victory's teamwork... but I think the factual matters were just too weak.
Just saw the first episode and it reminds me of Nijiiro Karute a bit, which was the subber's previous project :D Love the scenery and its heartwarming story <3 made me cry a lot too :'''

7.7 is too low... this show deserves higher rating!!
