i watched this two years ago and still think the ending was a major disappointment but the chemistry between the FL and ML was phenomenal. it was my first time seeing both main leads in a drama.
how many more times is the ML going to use the excuse of the FL “needing a cloak for the night is chilly” as his reason for turning up when she’s in trouble. it’s been done for the third time in episode 11 and is getting kinda repetitive.
earlier episodes: king/emperor of bian tang is on his deathbed. ep 10 emperor is miraculously well enough to host a banquet with his insufferable wife.
also the role of chun’er in this drama is not necessary to the storyline. i feel no sympathy for her or what she’s gone through.
lol started watching this today but follow the winner on instagram and realized he posted about his win a couple days ago. to watch the rest to see how it all unfolds or to drop it is the ₩100 000 000 question.
i fast forwarded through much of the last three episodes. nothing new about the ending. this drama is a solid seven all thanks to the ML. he definitely carried the drama.
i would have liked to have seen more of the second couples arc. they had a bit more chemistry then the main leads if only because the FL brought nothing to the table. the SML isn’t even credited in the cast lineup which is a shame. Anyone know the name of this actor?
for anyone else wondering… the actress who plays Zhu Shu Yi is Sun Qian Yu (not credited) She has previously been seen in Revenged Love as the gf to the MLs and has a supporting role in the currently airing Born to Be the Villian.
i’d say this is a pretty good debut performance from the ML. not outstanding, but hints that he will do well in the future with better direction and experiences.
this is my first time seeing the FL in a drama although her cv is quite long. i do find her kissing style to be none existent. the ML is trying his best (and doing all the work) while she seems unable to open her mouth just a smidge for it to be believable. it’s a bit of a turn off tbh.
ML dying and telling the FL to stop crying multiple times while FL hasn’t shed one single tear the entire time was anticlimactic for this dramas ending.
ep 18 continuity error. in ribbon cutting scene Miss Zhu is wearing the same outfit she wore in the nightclub scene (pink shiny outfit) where the waitress and bodyguard get taken away as opposed to the black top with white sash and silver skirt she wears to the meeting with her godfather at tea art park. (the men from those two scenes are wearing the same outfits which is how i noticed it right away.)
episode 8 was unnecessary. anybody with a brain watching this would have deduced that the hooded man talking with Uncle Kun was the new police sergeant/ex lover of the FL. to dedicate an entire episode to his pov could have been summed up in mere 7 minutes.

i’ve seen the actress who plays counselor zhu’s daughter somewhere before but as she’s not listed in the credits currently i have no idea who she is.
